Nippers is all about waterproofing our kids but are you waterproof yourself? Have you tried doing what you expect your kids to do on a Sunday morning?

There’s nothing like experiencing the ocean with your kids, and with the right support, you can build confidence in the water and create those moments together.

CanToo’s Summer Ocean Swim program offers a unique chance to learn to swim with the guidance of experienced Coaches who are with you in the water. You’ll also be supported by a full surf lifesaving crew, ensuring a safe, reassuring environment every step of the way. With training taking place both in the pool and at the beach, you'll gain real skills and confidence. Best of all, you’ll become part of an uplifting supportive community.

Even more rewarding, you’re not just doing it for yourself. Your fundraising efforts could help fund life-saving cancer research and make a real impact for people in Australia.

Costs: $15 per head, which includes a drink from the bar and a delicious curry dinner from the Cheer Factory of Butter Chicken, Lamb Saag, Eggplant/Potato (for the vegetarians), Naan and Rice. The club is subsidising a component of the night to welcome members back to the patrol season.

Excited to share some info about upcoming courses at the club this season! We have an IRB Crew + Driver course which will be starting on the 13th September, and an ART course running starting the 14th September.

The IRB course will have a 630am start at the beach aiming to be done by about 930am. IRB Crew will be running for approximately 4 weeks depending on surf conditions and the IRB Driver will run for about 8 weeks, also depending on surf conditions.
For IRB Crew you must have a Bronze Medallion as a minimum and be 15yrs. For the IRB driver you must be 17yrs with a Bronze Medallion and IRB Crew certificate with a minimum of 12months of frequent crewing under your belt.
IRB drivers will have limited spaces and your eligibility will be decided by the trainers as to whether more crew experience is required prior to joining the course.

The ART course will run for approximately 3 weeks (depending on skills level). We will be starting at 830am and running through until approx. 1030am. For ART you must have a current first aid certificate as a pre requisite.
