Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) and Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) are promoted as innovative neurorehabilitation methods for children with neurological disabilities, yet both rely on outdated reflex-hierarchical models rather than contemporary motor learning principles. A review of the literature reveals that CME, despite 5 decades of use, is supported only by a few case reports and 2 small, biased comparative studies. DMI, introduced in 2021, has no published empirical evidence beyond a single conference abstract. Families often pay thousands for intensive, noncovered therapies that may displace meaningful participation in education and social life. Therapists have a professional responsibility to avoid legitimizing unproven practices and to prioritize interventions supported by robust evidence. Pediatric rehabilitation should shift toward child-led, functional, and task-specific approaches grounded in modern motor learning science, with professional bodies and insurers withholding endorsement of nonevidence-based methods.

Just wanted to share a Come N Try event Dejay Medical & Frame Running Australia are hosting at Sydney Olympic Park. 😊

This event allows new athletes the chance to try Frame Running whilst also seeing the training the SOPAC athlete’s go through. Athletes can try to take part in the training or come down for a run themselves.

You’ll also get to meet Lou and Glen (the coaches) and the rest of wonderful Wheelchair Sports and Frame Running community.

Date: Saturday 29th of November

Time: 8am – 930am

Location: Sydney Olympic Park – Warm Up Arena


***Please know that there is a charge for entry to the Warmup Arena for using the track.***

Sizing and Frame Running Fitting
As this is a Come N Try we may need to share frames between new athletes and sometimes due to the amount of people attending its great to have the right sizes and frames set up ready for the athletes to take part. If you can send through the following measurements it’s a massive help.

A. Total Height
B. Inseam Leg Length – Saddle Height
C. Axilla to Ground – Chest Support Height
D. Chest Width – Chest Support Size
E. Shoulder to Close Fist (Or Full Arm Extension) – Handle Bar Length

🚙 So many hours are spent in my second office driving to clients homes, childcare’s or schools. 🚙 Apart from planning toilet stops, speaking to colleagues and preventing snacks from falling into the black hole between my handbrake and chair 😝 , I’ve been loving doing some professional development listening to the following podcasts! is great for clinicians wanting to hear the most up-to-date research and TheraBytes podcasts are smaller segments for families / carers to understand the research world. Also super excited to be attending the Rehab For Kids Conference next year! Working in the community there is the risk of isolation and stagnation so there needs to be continual learning and accountability with up to date research & tertiary centres! Still needing to learn however how to STOP dropping food into that black hole 😣
