The end of another Can Too squad. Now for the summer ocean swim season…..

The plan was a lovely afternoon swim out from Shelly Beach, followed by a happy hour cocktail at the boat shed. 15 minutes into the swim, the JetSki arrived (again) and ordered us out of the water, thanks bull shark. And then we were too early for happy hour. But a glass of Prosecco in the sun at one of the most beautiful places on earth wasn’t bad compensation.

There was a JetSki in the water as I swam around the point. That’s always bad. By the time I’d swam like the clappers through murky, choppy water to the beach, the shark signs were up and the lifeguards were ordering everyone out. Thank goodness I wasn’t one of the stragglers this morning (although they did get a free ride on the back of the JetSki!)

Campaigning at the Manly Jazz Festival today. I’m loving listening to the undecided voters - so many good questions and valid concerns. It’s a pleasure to engage in good natured conversations about something so important.

OCTOPUS! I’m always playing ocean critter Bingo when I swim and today I found one of the missing beasties on my ‘card’. She was a big, beautiful and brave octopus too! Spotted lurking under a rock shelf, she came right out into the open and had a wander about the sandy floor in the shallows near Shelly Beach. We were also treated to a wobbegong, fiddler ray and several port Jackson sharks ❤️🦈🐙🐠

Made it to the beach! After a MASSIVE day of performing with (more of that later!) I didn’t think I’d make it this morning, but so glad I did! Port Jackson sharks and big beautiful giant cuttlefish’s what a morning! Now for a cup of tea and almost definitely an afternoon nap 😴

Turtle time 🐢 🐢🐢 We finally swam with a turtle off the Bower this morning . And what a big, beautiful beastie she was! Plus we spotted a giant cuttlefish, a big wobbegong and several Port Jackson sharks of different sizes. Best morning ever!! 🐢🦈❤️🦈🐢🏊‍♀️
