Sydney Sexual Health Centre

Sydney Sexual Health Centre Sydney Sexual Health Centre (SSHC) is the oldest sexual health service in NSW, operating since 1933. You don't need a Medicare card to visit us.

We are a busy centre offering testing, treatment and management for sexually transmissible infections (STI) and HIV. If you think you might have been at risk for an STI or HIV, you can do our online risk assessment Am I OK? This will help us work out if we are the best place to meet your needs. We'll ask you a few questions about your recent sexual activity and at the end, we'll tell you what to do next. We primarily deliver services to people in some priority groups, so if you see yourself as belonging to any of these, then SSHC is the place for you. These priority groups include:

People living with HIV
Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men
Sex workers
Aboriginal people
People who inject drugs
Young people

We run the Satellite clinic, a walk-in youth sexual health service on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, in partnership with headspace at Bondi Junction. We offer fast, free and confidential HIV and STI testing for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men at a[TEST] Oxford Street and Surry Hills in partnership with ACON. We have sexual health specialist doctors, nurses, counsellors, health promotion officers, researchers and administrative staff. If you have a Medicare card and are happy to use it, please bring it with you, but you can still come if you don't have one. For more information, visit: https://www.sshc.org.au/

Did you know around 56% of liver cancers worldwide are caused by hepatitis B?

Liver cancer often has few or no symptoms, which means it can be found late.

That’s why early testing and regular follow-ups matter. Managing hepatitis B can help stop it from progressing and reduce the risk of liver cancer.

💙 If you’re living with hepatitis B, regular follow-ups and staying in care help protect your long-term health.

NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING | Today’s National Day of Mourning honours the 15 innocent lives lost and all those impacted by the horrific terrorist attack at Bondi Beach last month.

The impact of this terrible antisemitic attack was felt deeply across our District. Many of our staff, patients and community members continue to feel the weight of what occurred.

We express our sincere condolences to those who lost loved ones, to those injured, to the entire Jewish community and everyone impacted by this attack.

Today is a time to pause, reflect and stand together as a community. Bondi’s Chabad community has chosen the theme: ‘Light will win, a gathering of unity and remembrance’.

All of Australia is invited to observe one-minute of silence at 7:01pm this evening. You are also encouraged to leave a candle on your doorstep or window as a symbol of remembrance, mourning and solidarity with the Jewish community.

Today, we will undertake Mitzvahs to honour those we lost, to stand with our Jewish community and to acknowledge the ongoing journey of healing. In the Jewish tradition, a Mitzvah is an act of kindness, compassion and a moral responsibility.

You can share your Mitzvahs here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/community-services/one-mitzvah-for-bondi
