TEO isn’t just for humans — our friends at East Coast Equine Physio have been trialling TEO on horses, dogs, cats, and even llamas 🐴🐶🐱🦙. It’s been well‑tolerated (and often enjoyed!), with tailored voltage levels depending on sensitivity. Each animal responds differently, so settings range anywhere from 30% to 100%. Exciting to see TEO’s potential in the animal world.

Tess O’toole, BodyCentral Clinical Massage Therapy Christchurch, trying the TEO.

TEO is a non-invasive treatment method that delivers a range of therapeutic benefits via electrostatic oscillation. It works by generating an electrostatic field between the applicator—or the therapist’s hands—and the patient’s tissue. This interaction creates a gentle, pulsating kneading effect known as electrostatic oscillation.

A memory just popped up in my feed from when I first ran Navigating Lipoedema With Confidence last year and it reminded me how powerful that first round really was.

The first class ran for a full 96 minutes and was absolutely packed with knowledge and insight. So much so that “the basics” didn’t feel basic at all!

In that first session, we unpacked:

🔹 What lipoedema actually is (in plain English).
🔹The types and stages of lipoedema.
🔹 Why so many doctors still don’t recognise it.
🔹 Where to find information to take to your medical team.
🔹 The Medicare issue, why lipoedema isn’t yet recognised and what needs to be done to change that.
🔹 How to find resources to help you approach your MP.
🔹 Conflicting medical guidelines (and what that means for you).

We also busted a lot of myths, including:

🔸 Will everyone progress from Stage 1 to Stage 4?
🔸 Does losing weight reverse lipoedema?
🔸 Is surgery a cure?
🔸 Do diuretics actually help?
🔸 Are there any standardised tests for diagnosis?

It was such a rich, empowering session and now it’s time to do it all again!

If you missed out last time (or need a refresher), the next round of Navigating Lipoedema With Confidence is about to begin.

Would you like to join us for this next round?

We were fortunate to hear from respected clinicians Claire Boyce, Bernie Te Moni-Withington, and Charmaine McKernan, who generously shared their experiences using these therapies in practice. Their insights sparked valuable discussion and practical learning for everyone involved.
It was a great opportunity to bring clinicians together to share knowledge, foster innovation, and support better outcomes for patients — particularly fitting during Lymphoedema Awareness Week.
Thank you to everyone who joined us.
