📚 Shared book reading is one of the most powerful tools in speech therapy for building early language, literacy, and communication skills.
At The Speech Spot, we use books to help children learn in a fun and meaningful way! Through shared reading, children are exposed to new words, sentence structures, and story concepts, while practising skills like listening, commenting, answering questions, turn-taking, and joint attention.
Our sessions are child-led and playful, with books chosen to match each child’s developmental level and interests. Shared book reading supports:
✨ Vocabulary growth & word learning
✨ Understanding & answering WH-questions
✨ Sentence structure & grammar
✨ Sequencing & story comprehension
✨ Social skills like turn-taking and listening
Every child benefits, whether they’re just starting to combine words, building comprehension, or developing storytelling skills. #
