Life has been a bit tricky for me lately. Lots of inflammation and an injury or two to figure out. But I’m not letting that stop me entirely. There’s things I can’t do, but there’s a lot I still can.
Join me with this idea to build a mat pilates flow. We started at a bridge and ended with a hundred burst. Sky is the limit with where this could go, but I love where it could go cause you all know I love building layers 😉

We explored this setup in class this week and I absolutely adore the layers and ways you can build the flow. Here are 9 ways to explore it with the ball incorporating obliques, glutes, upper body & hips too.

Pick a few to explore or create a flow with many put together.

Got a foam roller you haven’t used in a while? Here are some different ideas to inspire you to dust it off and get it out to play. Some of these are reformer inspired, which is a fun little play on a few of my favourites ;)

1. Planking variations
2. Bridge with optional knee lift
3. Bridge roll outs
4. Supine abdominal
5. Criss cross variation
6. Hip flexor stretch
7. Double leg lowers
8. Optional toe criss-crosses

Grabbed the yoga block today, propped up underneath the pelvis. I love the deeper connection I feel to my core by elevating the hips. Unlike the ball, it’s not such a stability challenge, so you can use the brick to really press into.

Adding layers are my favourite thing, that’s no secret. Take the time to build it, it’s lovely. Especially the oblique connection with the corner shift of the leg / arm.

I’ve given a cue before of rest your foot in the ball lightly, like it’s a balloon. Well today I put it to the test and if you can’t do pilates with a balloon prop on your birthday, when can you huh?!

What a wonderfully stacked weekend at the expo, my mind is full and muscles are worked!
It’s always extra special for the MentorME crew getting together but this year we got to watch our incredible mentor present and we were all so proud of her 🥰
There were other workshops that I loved from .pilates.training . Thank you for all your planning, I can’t wait to bring it back to my crew.
Plus, it’s always nice bumping into family too.

Now for a magnesium bath and a face mask I think 😊
