At 11am on 11/11 we pause for a moment and reflect on those who have gone before us, paying the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

This week is HIM Week, raising awareness about the role Health Information Management professionals have in the delivery of patient care and system efficiency.

The theme 'Our Identity, Our Impact: Demonstrating Our Value' recognises the breadth of the profession - clinical coding, data governance, digital health, health information management, clinical documentation, privacy, education - unsung heroes undertaking important work behind the scenes to ensure patient care is efficient and timely, with accurate reporting, billing and the safe storage of patient information.

"I’m incredibly proud of our Health Information Management teams. Working tirelessly behind the scenes to provide timely medical records to internal and external health care providers, while ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information. They also support quality health data provision through documentation improvement initiatives and timely clinical coding - essential to securing accurate funding for our services.

Shout out to all our wonderful Health Information Professionals, thank you for supporting our clinical teams in delivering exceptional patient care every day," Karen Hastings, National HIM Manager.
