Yesterday was my first UK Mother’s Day, and it ended up meaning more to me than I expected.

This week Shanti was home sick from school.

At one point she said something that completely stopped me in my tracks.

“When I grow up, I want to be just like you.

I want to work really hard on my own business so I can always be home when my kids are sick, to help them with their homework, go to all their matches and just listen to them.”

It was one of those quiet moments where you realise that the choices you make as a parent shape so much more than you think.

Last year was a huge year of change for us.

We moved countries, rebuilt our life, and I made some big shifts in how I structure my work and my time.

Hearing her say that made me realise something really clearly.

The real shifts we make in our lives aren’t always the ones we see in the mirror.

They’re the ones that shape the life we get to live.

And the example we set for the people watching us grow.

So many women spend years hyper-focused on fixing their bodies.

But if we’re not careful, we can miss the very life we’re working so hard to create.

Yesterday reminded me what actually matters.

Many high achieving women think their problem is discipline.

But what I see far more often is chronic low energy availability.

Busy schedules.
Missed meals.
Training on too little fuel.

Over time this suppresses metabolic rate and thyroid function.

So consistency feels harder and harder.

Last year, I lost fat whilst rebuilding my metabolic capacity by doing the opposite.

• eating enough
• 220g of carbs even in a deficit
• lifting heavy
• consistency inside real life

How I kept that consistency despite all the chaos is something we’re going to unpack in a free workshop I’m running this month.

The Year was 2016

It was the year of a lot of self reflection as a 35 year old coach, entrepreneur and single woman. cutting away so much of the old and building the foundations for the new, which I can truly see now, doing this little fun post.

IT was the year for a lot of friend time

But, also the year we lost Ed. The funniest and most thoughtful staff member I ever had.

Lululemon upgraded me to a legacy ambassador and took me to lots of fun events

It was the year I levelled up my skills working with Dr Guy Voyer and my dear friends and mentors Suzi Nevell and Paul Driscoll

I delivered trainings for PTs and Exercise Coaches around Australia with another long time mentor and friend, Mark Buckley and his FMA Strength Institute.

I coached some amazing athletes from injury and burnout back to winning.

Solved some complex biomechanical issues and even saved a client from a heart attack because of an amazing cardiologist who listened me.

I went corporate with my Executive Athlete program which was so successful it cleared all my debts from my studio and got me back and thriving again.

I shared the learnings of health and nutritious food with my dear friend and mentor Pip McKay on her retreats.

I did some projects with Canna Campbell, the most amazing friend who inspired me as a business woman in ways that are truly coming to fruition now.

I spent a lot of time with my cousin and her kids, helping her transition a new life stage, but in truth, they were helping up a new space my heart.

I did a lot of Acro Yoga. LOL. It was so fun!

And of course my Bastion. Who helped me train the BEST outdoor training group that I could never let go of because they were so fun.

But who helped me truly open a space in my heart for love.

Because of course, it was the year I feel deeply in love with future husband,

And we started our most amazing project together..

Finishing up the most wonderful year of transformation, connection, growth and learning which now in 2026, I can see was so foundational and instrumental to the live I have now.

I know biohacking is trendy…
but every time I hear the word, my whole nervous system cringes.

Not because the tools are “bad.”
But because for so many women, biohacking becomes a way to look everywhere except inside their own body.

And honestly? I get it.

It’s so much easier to buy a device, a protocol, a supplement stack, or a lab test…
than it is to sit with yourself, be consistent, and rebuild the basics your physiology is actually begging for.

The things that actually restore your metabolism are boring:
sunlight, food, sleep, muscle, breath, routine, and strategy.

Not sexy.
But transformational.
