Same class.Same routine.Same results.

If you want to get more out of your training, you need to challenge your body in new ways.

Try something different this week.

Most people think they need to choose between Pilates or strength training.

But the truth is, they do very different things for your body.

Pilates focuses on core strength, stability and control.
It improves posture, balance and the way your body moves.

Strength training focuses on building muscle and overall strength.
It helps your body become more resilient and better able to handle load.

When you combine both, something interesting happens.
Pilates improves how you move.
Strength training improves how strong you are.

Together, they create a body that is balanced, capable and resilient.

That’s why well-rounded training routines usually include a mix of different training styles rather than relying on just one.

Because the best programs aren’t built around a single method.

They’re built around variety and balance.

Save this if you’re trying to build a more balanced training routine.

You don’t need to feel ready to start.

One of the biggest reasons people delay starting their fitness journey is because they’re waiting for the perfect moment.

When work calms down.

When life gets less busy.

When they feel more motivated.

When they feel more confident.

But the truth is that the “perfect moment” almost never arrives.

The people who make the most progress in their health and fitness aren’t the ones who waited until everything lined up perfectly.

They’re the ones who started anyway.

They started when they felt unsure.

They started when they felt out of shape.

They started when life felt busy.

And over time, those small decisions to show up began to compound.

One workout became two.

Two became a routine.

And that routine slowly became a lifestyle.

At Flow Athletic we see it all the time.

The hardest step for most people isn’t the workout itself.

It’s walking through the door for the first time.

Spin is one of the most effective and energising workouts you can do.

It improves cardiovascular fitness, builds lower body strength and delivers an incredible calorie burn — all while being low impact on your joints.

But what really makes spin special is the atmosphere.

Music, lights and a room full of people pushing together.

If you’ve never tried it before, this might be your sign.

One of the biggest mistakes people make with their training is doing the same workout over and over again.

Your body adapts quickly.

When that happens, progress slows down.

The best training routines combine different styles of movement:

Strength for muscle and resilience.
Cardio for endurance and heart health.
Mobility and flexibility for recovery and longevity.

That’s exactly why Flow Athletic offers a variety of training styles, including Pilates, Yoga, Spin, Strength and Personal Training.

Different workouts.
One community.
A balanced way to train.

Pilates has a reputation for looking calm, slow, and effortless.

But anyone who has spent even a few minutes on the reformer knows the truth.

Pilates is one of the most controlled and demanding forms of strength training you can do.

Every movement requires precision.
Every muscle is working to stabilise.
And the slower you move, the harder it becomes.

Instead of chasing speed or heavy weights, Pilates focuses on control, alignment, and time under tension. That’s why it’s so effective for building deep core strength, improving posture, supporting joint health, and creating a body that moves well both inside and outside the studio.

At Flow Athletic, Pilates has been part of our foundation for over 13 years. It’s not just a workout here. It’s a method that helps our members build strength, resilience, and longevity.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or have been practising for years, every session is an opportunity to reconnect with your body and move with intention.

If you’ve never experienced it before, this is your sign to give it a try.

Showing up to class is a great start.
But if you’ve been doing the same thing for months and nothing is changing… it might be time to train with more intention.

Progress happens when you increase weights, track your training, and push your limits.

If you feel like you’ve plateaued, we can help.

DM or comment “PROGRESS” and let’s level up your training.
