Productive… or depleted?

Here in The Hills, many people tell us the same thing:
“I’m busy all the time, but I feel exhausted and behind.”

From what we see in general practice, productivity isn’t just about effort.

It’s about whether your body is being supported by:

• Enough sleep
• Regular food
• Some movement
• Time away from work
• And realistic expectations

When one piece is missing, fatigue can quickly become “normal”.

💡 Gentle reminder:
Looking after your health isn’t falling behind, it’s often what helps you keep showing up for work, family, and life.

If tiredness or burnout has become your baseline, it may help to talk it through.

👉 Book online to discuss fatigue or burnout with your GP
👉 Or share this with someone in The Hills who might need the reminder

Myth Buster Mondays

There’s a lot of noise around cold showers.

Myth: More cold = more benefit.
Reality: For some people, short, gentle exposure may help the body practise calming itself after stress.

No pushing through distress.

If you have heart conditions, feel faint, or feel unwell, it’s best to skip this and talk with your GP.

Simple care. Real life.

Book online or call us on 02 9680 9644.

If you’ve been putting this off, now is a good time.

By this time of year, the resolutions we made in January can start to feel… distant.

Life gets busy. Work. Kids. Everything else.

But the best thing we can do for our long term health is get the right guidance.
Your GP is often the best place to start.

At Rosedale, we now have more doctors than ever, with an even stronger focus on prevention, early detection and making sure important things don’t get missed.

Including simple but high impact things like checking and treating low iron.
(Yes, we do iron infusions on site when needed.)

If something has been sitting in the “I’ll deal with that later” bucket, this is your reminder that you don’t have to push through alone.

New patients welcome. Appointments available this week.

📣 Welcome Dr Michael Lin to Rosedale Medical Practice

We’re very happy to welcome Dr Michael Lin to the Rosedale team.

Dr Michael has previously worked with Dr Jas and it’s genuinely delightful to now see him choose to continue his GP training in an environment built around the Rosedale style of care - thoughtful, continuity based, and personal.

Dr Michael is a GP Registrar with strong hospital experience across Concord Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney Eye Hospital and Northern Beaches Hospital, where he gained hands on experience managing both common and complex medical conditions.

Alongside clinical work, he also contributes as a Medical Advisor with eHealth NSW, helping shape digital healthcare solutions that make it easier for patients to access safe, high quality care.

It’s especially meaningful to see that we now have two GP Registrars at Rosedale who we know personally and who have intentionally chosen this model of care and training.

Dr Michael is supervised by our GP Supervisors, Dr Jas Saini and Dr Natasha Paul, ensuring patients continue to receive the high standard of care Rosedale is known for.

Dr Michael is now welcoming new patients.

Welcome Back, Dr Gareth Mason - Currently Bulk Billing While He Gets Started ✅

Here’s a story we love telling.

Years ago, a medical student named Gareth spent time with us at Rosedale, learning what it truly means to care for families in a community practice.

Today, Dr Gareth Mason has returned as our GP Registrar - and he’s currently bulk billing all patients while he gets started.

Since his time with us, Dr Mason:

🏅 Graduated with the University Medal from Macquarie University (2022) - top of his medical cohort
🏥 Gained experience across Western and Northern Sydney hospitals
💚 Chosen to return to Rosedale to complete his GP training

Dr Mason’s areas of special interest:

• Paediatrics & children’s health
• Chronic disease management
• Sexual health & LGBTQIA+ care
• PrEP prescribing
• Minor procedures
• General medicine

He’s passionate about using technology to improve healthcare accessibility and supporting patients from all walks of life.

This is exactly the kind of thoughtful growth we’ve been working on this January - bringing back exceptional doctors who understand our community and can increase access to quality care.

Dr Mason is accepting new patients now.

Can menopause really start at any age?

Symptoms can begin earlier than many people expect, sometimes years before periods stop.

That’s why having the right guidance matters.

Dr Natasha Paul brings many years of experience in menopause care, including work with the Australian Menopause Centre, and provides comprehensive menopause health assessments tailored to each woman’s stage, symptoms, and health history.

Menopause isn’t one-size-fits-all.
And you don’t need to “wait it out” or second-guess what’s normal.

If symptoms are affecting your sleep, mood, energy, or quality of life — support and evidence-based options are available.

📞 Book an appointment to talk it through properly.

Do I really need to fast for blood tests?

For most routine blood tests, fasting is no longer required.

Modern pathology testing means many checks — including cholesterol, thyroid, kidney and liver function — can be done accurately without fasting.

If fasting is needed, your GP will tell you clearly.
If you weren’t specifically told to fast, it’s usually okay not to.

Small changes like this can make care simpler, more convenient, and easier to follow through.
