This International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the diversity of the female mind.

In the Hills District, we see women lead, nurture, and innovate every single day. But today, we want to highlight a group of women whose contributions often come from a unique "engine": those with a vibrant, neurodivergent processing style.

For many women in West Pennant Hills, Cherrybrook, Hornsby and surrounding suburbs, discovering their ADHD isn't about finding a "fix" - it’s about finally receiving the user manual for their brilliant, non-linear minds.

The Power of Difference

When we embrace neurodiversity, we move away from "one-size-fits-all" expectations and start celebrating the natural gifts of a high-engagement brain:

• The Visionary: Your mind doesn't just follow a path; it sees the entire landscape. You connect dots and find creative solutions that bring fresh perspectives to our community.

• The Deep Diver: Your ability to immerse yourself in your passions is a superpower. You bring a level of intensity and expertise to your interests that is truly inspiring.

• The Intuitive Heart: You are often the first to sense a need or notice a subtle shift in a friend's mood. Your empathy is a direct result of how deeply you process the world around you.

Investing in Women Means Investing in Neurodiversity

This year’s IWD theme is about inclusion and empowerment. True empowerment starts with self-alignment. It’s about moving from "fitting in" to standing out in your own authentic way.

Often, we see this most clearly in our children. By embracing our own cognitive styles, we show the next generation of girls in the Hills that being "different" isn't just okay - it’s an asset. We teach them to harness their energy rather than trying to dim it.

Supporting Your Journey

At Rosedale Medical Practice in West Pennant Hills, we believe that understanding your mind is the ultimate form of self-care. We are here to support women as they explore their unique cognitive maps - offering a space that is as vibrant and validating as you are.

You don't need to change your frequency. You just need to know that your brilliance is exactly what the world needs.

Happy International Women's Day to all the women of the Hills.

🏥 Putting You First: New Skills, Better Care!

At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: making your healthcare experience as easy and comfortable as possible.

We are so excited to participate in Wise Specialist Emergency Clinic next week! We’ll be diving deep into an advanced workshop focused on Ultrasound-guided IV Cannulation, Suturing, and Wound Closure.

Why does this matter for you?

We know that for some of our patients, procedures like iron infusions can feel daunting—especially if you’ve been told you have "difficult veins" or have struggled to access these services in the past.

By mastering ultrasound-guided techniques, we are removing those barriers.

This means:
• Precision care for quicker, more comfortable IV starts.
• Increased accessibility for vital services like iron infusions.
• Peace of mind knowing you’re in expert hands using the latest technology.

We love upskilling because it allows us to support our amazing community with the high-level care you deserve. We can’t wait to bring these skills back to the clinic for you!

📊 A quick look at how we’re looking after you - January 2026

We love being able to share what’s happening behind the scenes at Rosedale.

Last month, our team sent out 1,133 appointment reminders, because we know life gets busy and a nudge at the right time makes all the difference.

350 patients received a message prompting them to book an appointment to discuss their results so what’s important doesn’t get missed or left waiting.

And 119 patients received a recall message from us, a proactive check-in to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

This is what continuity of care looks like in practice. Not just treating you when you’re unwell, but staying connected so we can catch things early and keep you on track.

If you haven’t downloaded the HotDoc app yet, it’s the easiest way to book with us, confirm your appointments, and stay in the loop. Over 1,876 of your fellow Rosedale patients are already using it.

👉 Search HotDoc in the App Store or Google Play and find Rosedale Medical Practice.

We are proud to support the New South Wales government ADHD reforms at Rosedale Medical Practice.

The journey after diagnosis is just as important as the initial assessment, and general practice is uniquely placed to offer comprehensive support for people of all ages with ADHD.

Not just medication, a team based, multifocal approach that also considers lifestyle aspects and mental health support is crucial.

New reforms are strengthening the role of GPs in supporting people with ADHD in NSW.

These changes are giving people with ADHD more choice and support in diagnosis, treatment, and day-to-day management of their condition.

To find out about ADHD care options near you:
- talk to your regular GP
- visit healthdirect.gov.au to find a GP who can continue your treatment
- call healthdirect 1800 022 222 to speak to a nurse.

Better results happen when your medical care and nutrition support work together.

At Rosedale, you can access both GP care and dietitian support in one place.

This means your medication, nutrition, side effect management, and long-term plan are all aligned.

Our GPs help assess if GLP-1 therapy is appropriate, safe, and tailored to you.

Our dietitian helps you build eating habits that improve results, reduce side effects, and help maintain weight loss long term.

You do not have to figure this out alone or piece care together across different providers.

Your care team works together to support you from the start.

If you are considering GLP-1 treatment, or already using it, book with one of our GPs to get started.

We can organise dietitian support as part of your care plan.

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro have gained much publicity in this era of modern weight loss treatment. However, these medications are not the complete answer. Long term results rely greatly on diet, behaviour and muscle maintenance. This is the key to ensuring that weight regain does not follow once these medications are ceased.

Have you ever delayed booking an appointment because you thought:

“It’s probably nothing.”

Many people in our community do.

We want you to know - checking something early is never a burden.

If a symptom is:
• lasting more than two weeks
• getting worse
• or simply worrying you

It’s reasonable to have it looked at.

At Rosedale Medical Practice in West Pennant Hills, we’re here for questions as much as diagnoses.

Sometimes reassurance is the treatment.
Sometimes early action makes a big difference.

Either way, starting the conversation matters.

You can book online anytime via our website.

Share this with someone who keeps putting off an appointment.

Productive… or depleted?

Here in The Hills, many people tell us the same thing:
“I’m busy all the time, but I feel exhausted and behind.”

From what we see in general practice, productivity isn’t just about effort.

It’s about whether your body is being supported by:

• Enough sleep
• Regular food
• Some movement
• Time away from work
• And realistic expectations

When one piece is missing, fatigue can quickly become “normal”.

💡 Gentle reminder:
Looking after your health isn’t falling behind, it’s often what helps you keep showing up for work, family, and life.

If tiredness or burnout has become your baseline, it may help to talk it through.

👉 Book online to discuss fatigue or burnout with your GP
👉 Or share this with someone in The Hills who might need the reminder

Myth Buster Mondays

There’s a lot of noise around cold showers.

Myth: More cold = more benefit.
Reality: For some people, short, gentle exposure may help the body practise calming itself after stress.

No pushing through distress.

If you have heart conditions, feel faint, or feel unwell, it’s best to skip this and talk with your GP.

Simple care. Real life.
