People love to say, “Do it now. Don’t wait until you’re ready.” And sure, under some circumstances, that can be true for some people. But it’s definitely not true for me.
Since learning Human Design and actually understanding how I function, I don’t fall for generic advice the way I used to. If you’re not into Human Design, you can read this as a framework for decision-making, energy, and timing.
I’m a 1/3 Profile, a Generator, split definition, with a strong stillness energy. If I force myself into things before I’m ready, it doesn’t “build confidence”. It usually lands me in something that doesn’t work, creates frustration, and ends up being a waste of my time and energy.
A year ago, I spoke with a woman and we agreed on an exchange. She’d help me with a certain aspect of marketing, and I’d offer her a personal report plus a Human Design based business and brand blueprint. It looked great on paper, but the timing didn’t feel right. So we agreed to wait until I could honestly say, “It’s time.”
Instead of pushing the next step, I followed what my energy actually lit up for. Podcasts.
That’s where my Generator excitement kicked in. Not for views or followers, but because I genuinely love promoting others, highlighting uniqueness, and I believe in my work. I felt real commitment even without knowing the outcome, which is also part of my design.
And it paid off in a way I couldn’t have planned.
What came out of those podcasts was BIO FROM THE SOUL, a beautiful standalone product. Through introducing guests and writing their bios for the written interviews, I started receiving feedback that made something obvious. This is something I’m genuinely good at.
I can feel a person. I can see their highest potential, often before they can see it themselves.
It’s not just a product that helps someone “explain themselves”. It helps them feel seen, own who they are, and get activated into what’s truly possible for them. It’s the first step towards living their real potential.
And here’s the part that matters. This was the missing piece a year ago. This is what needed to be born first before the collaboration with that woman could truly work. The transformation that happened for me this year has been enormous. It brought me back onto my path. It gave me confidence that wasn’t forced or faked. It was embodied from lived experience.
The year before, I was initiating with good intentions to help, but instead of standing in my truth, I became a leaky wagon, leaking my energy and resources everywhere. Result? Drained instead of uplifted. Disappointed. Nearly ready to give up. That’s clearly my not-self pattern.
So yes, knowing yourself and how you function is priceless. Not as a concept, but as lived practice. When you stop forcing the timeline and start trusting your design, the right things actually have space to emerge.
That’s been my transformation: less impatience, more trust. Trust in the right timing and trust in life.
What’s yours?
