Australia Day was marked with nationwide citizenship ceremonies this year, with Prime Minister Anthothy Albanese attending Canberras to speak to the newest Australians.

Communities across the country are marking Australia Day with citizenship ceremonies, traditional dances, smoking ceremonies and fun runs, as the prime minister calls for "unity not division" during a speech in Canberra.

Our office will be closed this Monday 26 January to observe Australia Day.

Australia Day is a national public holiday, created to allow all Australians time to reflect on the country's past, present and future. Many Australians will use the long weekend to explore their beautiful backyard and spend time with friends and family.

Our team will be back in the office on Tuesday 27 January.
