The Northcott South West Sydney Showcase took creativity to the next level!
Customers from Campbelltown and Casula hit the stage to show off their music skills and paid homage to the best era of music - the 90s! There were also fantastic displays of art and photography, floristry, 3-D printing and creative writing.
Everyone had such a blast at the end of year showcase. What a talented crew 👏

Northcott was delighted to attend INSPIRE Gold Coast organised by the ARHG Foundation — what an incredible night! ✨
The energy in the room was a powerful reminder of why this work matters: inclusion, joy, and community for people with disability.
The evening brought together inspiring speakers, industry leaders and everyday change-makers, creating a space built on honesty, courage and connection. We were proud to be part of it.
Most importantly, the event helped raise funds for the Festival of FUN Gold Coast where Northcott will proudly be providing and hosting the Try Me Sports Arena.
Mark your calendars for 9 April 2026 — the Festival of FUN Gold Coast is set to be bigger, brighter and more inclusive than ever.

Everyone needs to learn about online safety.
That’s why Crime Prevention Officer Senior Constable Stokes and Fiona, Multicultural Community Liaison Officer from Hornsby Police Station visited our Work and Study customers this week.
They shared practical tips on how to stay safe online, recognise potential scams and protect personal information. Customers learned how to spot suspicious messages, avoid phishing attempts and report unsafe online behaviour.
We’re grateful to Hornsby Police Station for delivering this accessible and engaging session. Let’s continue supporting each other and staying informed!

💙 Building Stronger Communities for Every Child 💙
Today, we're celebrating World Children's Day. For over 20 years, Northcott has been creating spaces where families of children (0–8 years) with disability or developmental delay can connect, learn, and thrive. Our supported playgroups are more than play - they’re a gateway to community services, support networks, and guidance development.
📣 Families are supported by experienced staff who listen, share advice, and help link families to the resources they need.
For First Nations families, our programs provide:
- A weekly Indigenous Support Playgroup offering connection and culturally safe support
- An Indigenous School Readiness Group to prepare children for a confident start
- A monthly Yarning Circle Carer Support Group for sharing experiences and accessing vital resources
These programs ensure First Nations families have a culturally safe environment to access information and services that matter most.
💡 Together, we’re building stronger families, stronger communities, and brighter futures for children.

When the train left Tamworth station at 10.30am, Senior Support Worker for Life Skills, Paige, had no idea that one customer would love the trip so much she wouldn’t want to leave the train at the end of the line.
Recently the Tamworth team took 13 customers on an hour and a half journey to Willow Tree Station for a fun, social adventure. “Everyone had such a good time,” says Paige. “It was great to see everyone so happy!”
A few new customers even joined and really came out of their shell on the trip, while the customers who didn’t want to board the train took a bus to meet the others at the platform and waved on their arrival.
Thankfully everyone DID get off the train for a nice lunch at the park together 😀

Let’s find your way together.
Build the confidence and everyday skills to live the life you choose.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Marie in the The Fred Hollows Foundation Humanitarian of the year poll. We are delighted to share that she won! 👏
This is such a well deserved recognition for her volunteer work and community spirit.
Congratulations Marie!
🌟 Announcing our 2025 Humanitarian of the Year! 🌟
💛 This week, we celebrated Australians who embody Fred Hollows' vision of compassion and action, and we're thrilled to announce Marie Tesoriero from NSW as our 2025 Fred Hollows Humanitarian of the Year!
Born with multiple disabilities, Marie has turned her challenges into a mission to give back — raising thousands through her handmade crafts initiative, Made by Cool Marie, for children’s hospitals, disability support, and medical research. Her resilience and kindness inspire us all. 👏
At our Coffs Harbour service, the team has been arranging themed Fridays to add a little extra fun, connection and creativity to the end of the week — and Pyjama Day is a definite favourite!
Customers and staff embraced the theme with cosy PJs, slippers and dressing gowns, creating lots of smiles and plenty of laughs throughout the day.
The goal of themed Fridays is simple: to make our fortnightly or monthly Fridays more engaging, spark new conversations and help build stronger connections between customers and staff.
A big thank you to everyone who joined in. Customers told us they loved getting to know more about the people they spend time with, and sharing stories prompted by the theme — from favourite footy teams to childhood bedtime routines! 💙
“I don’t let my disability define me and stop me from doing what I love.”
Sidny is a young artist who’s been with the Northcott community since she was two and a half years old. Through our programs that encourage creativity and independence, she’s found confidence and learned new skills.
With your support, we can continue providing essential resources and equipment that allow young people with disability like Sidny discover their strengths and shine.
Ten years on from the passing of Wendy Hall, we remember her kindness, purpose and vision: Wendy requested that friends and family donate to create a scholarship for people with a disability to pursue further education.
Over the years, the Wendy Hall Scholarship has supported six students with study costs - giving them tools, confidence and opportunity. For example:
• Noa used the scholarship to get an iPad, participate in extra-curriculars and now works as a graduate lawyer.
• Selina completed a Master of Environmental Science Management thanks to the support.
• Abdul used the funds for a laptop and monitor so his university work could be more accessible.
