We’re excited to welcome families to the new Northcott Campbelltown Supported Playgroup!

This is a free, fun and engaging outdoor playgroup for children aged 0–6 years and their parents or carers. It’s a friendly space where families can connect, children can explore through play and parents can enjoy meeting others in the community.

Each week offers a mix of structured and child-led activities in a relaxed outdoor setting, helping little ones build confidence and social skills while you share experiences and support.

Everyone is welcome: https://bit.ly/4rD2hBi

At Northcott, swimming pools have always been more than just a place for some cool reprieve over the summer.

At our Canterbury School, innovation in therapy was making a real difference to children’s lives. By 1965, the school had expanded its facilities to include a covered therapeutic swimming pool, complete with a filtration system and plans for heating so it could be used year-round.

In this pool, children received specialised therapy that helped build strength, mobility and confidence. The water offered freedom of movement that wasn’t always possible on land, allowing children to stretch, exercise and progress at their own pace while being supported by trained staff who understood their individual needs.

This investment in hydrotherapy reflected a growing recognition that education and therapy worked best hand in hand.

Supporting students in the classroom sometimes means a little extra help — and that’s where Northcott can step in.

In Queensland, Northcott can provide therapy supports in schools to enhance learning outcomes for students who need additional adjustments or support. Through the Specialist Disability Support in Schools (SDSS) Program, funded by the Queensland Department of Education, therapy supports are provided at no cost to schools.

Our experienced therapists work alongside teachers to support students who may have a disability or developmental delay, offering practical strategies around communication, concentration, participation and social engagement.

Meet Danni, Northcott’s 2026 Mardi Gras Ambassador🌈

This year is extra exciting because it’s Danni’s first time going to the Sydney Gay and Le***an Mardi Gras. She’s from Wagga Wagga in regional NSW and is really looking forward to being part of the parade.

Mardi Gras is important to Danni because it’s a time when everyone can dress up and be themselves with no judgement. She feels proud to be our Ambassador and celebrate being authentic.

You can see Danni and the Northcott marching group in the Sydney Gay and Le***an Mardi Gras on 28 February!

Thinking about disability housing on the Gold Coast but not sure where to start? You’re not alone — and this session is for you 💬🏠

We’re hosting a FREE Housing Options information session and we’d love to see you there. Whether you’re a person with disability, a family member, or someone supporting another person, this is a relaxed, practical session designed to make things clearer (not more confusing!).

We’re especially excited to be welcoming Greg Barry from SDA Services as one of our speakers. Greg has been involved in SDA since the very beginning and brings a rare mix of deep industry knowledge and decades of lived experience as a carer. He’ll be sharing real, practical insights into SDA approvals and what actually helps people move forward on their housing journey.

You’ll also hear from the Northcott team about local housing opportunities, behavioural support, and have plenty of time to ask questions — plus light refreshments ☕️✨

📅 Tuesday 10 March | 11am–12.30pm
📍 Gold Coast Eagles, Southport (wheelchair accessible)
💰 Free | Spaces are limited

At Cleaveland Hospital in the mid 1960s, care extended far beyond medical treatment. One of the most enjoyed activities were the cookery classes, where children were encouraged to learn practical, everyday skills in a supportive environment.

Thanks to community generosity, new utensils and a specially designed trolley were purchased to support these classes. In the hospital kitchen, children measured, mixed, cooked and created. This helped them to gain confidence, independence and a sense of achievement alongside their therapy.

These moments mattered. Cookery classes weren’t just about food; they empowered children with disability to take part in daily life and experience regular routines within a hospital setting.

Today our Life Skills programs continue that same spirit of learning and independence, helping customers build everyday skills like cooking, meal planning, food safety and confidence in the kitchen so they can live life the way they choose.

Competitive powerlifter and Northcott Support Worker Granit is breaking barriers! 💪

Granit first started powerlifting to improve his mental health and was able to find a trainer who believed in his abilities.

That journey sparked a new sense of confidence and direction for Granit. As a Northcott customer he went on to complete a TAFE course and began supporting others with disability at Northcott.

Thank you for sharing Granit's story 7NEWS Sydney!
