The Optical Distributors & Manufacturers Association (ODMA) is the peak body of wholesalers, manufacturers and importers of optical products in Australia i.e. prescription spectacle lenses, optical frames, sunglasses, sight testing equipment etc. Our members constitute the majority of the wholesale optical industry in Australia. ODMA’s key activities include the leading biennial trade events OMEGA

and pop up event OShow, each providing a unique offering of new products and equipment, education and demonstrations as well as industry connection.

🏥 Behind the Scenes at UNSW Health Translation Hub

ODMA CEO Amanda Trotman recently enjoyed an excursion from the office to visit the impressive new UNSW Health Translation Hub in Randwick!

Many thanks to Lisa Keay at UNSW for the tour of the optical consult and teaching facilities. Highlights included:

✨ Sydney's first 6 Star Green Star building
✨ ODMA member equipment students are learning hands-on
✨ Collaboration bringing research, teaching, and service delivery together
✨ Allied health service approaches in action
✨ Learning more about UNSW short courses

It's important for industry to collaborate with tomorrow's optometrists and future practice owners. Exciting to see education and industry working together!

🌈 Be Bold with Colour - Prue Leith's ModStyle Collection

It was wonderful to be in London to witness the launch of Prue Leith’s new collection with Eyewear on the 100% Catwalk.

Prue explained how ModStyle are doing great things, she loved their craftsmanship and with their entrance into the UK market, the collaboration just made sense.

Loved her comments that ModStyle didn’t tone her down, that glasses are jewellery for the face and once you step into the rainbow and be bold with colour. I love the range. Be hard to have a sad day wearing any of these frames!
