Get ready for an unforgettable night of fun and entertainment!

We are excited to announce that A.A.C Support Services & Friends will be hosting a Western Sydney first and free event for all of the disability community, friends, family and carers to join in on an amazing evening of fun and entertainment for all!

Exact date and location is yet to be confirmed as it will depend on the amount of interest in such an event, but it is in the works, and we are aiming for late July to early August for this night of fun. This event will be held within Blacktown city.

If your a small local business, or someone you know is and would be interested in joining in on the fun of putting on an amazing event in anyway, please contact me here or email me at aac-ss@outlook.com.au with some of your businesses details and how you would like to help, we will discuss the details further. Your business details will be added to all promotional material!

And if you would like to attend this evening, as soon as we have secured the location and date, there will be a public fb event created for you to list your attendance, and to be clear, this event will be free and held for everyone and is not a provider specific event. The goal for this evening is for everyone to get together and have a great night meeting new people and having an amazing time!

There will also be transport to and from this event for those in need!!

Sophisticated Support Solutions Sydney would like to welcome aboard our very first member to our team, Brea!

Brea has a vast range of experience and knowledge when it comes to providing care for those in need with an impressive resume with over 4 years experience working within the disability sector! Brea has experience with various types of disabilities and mental health, including experience working with addiction and substance abuse, and providing care to people with all levels of care needs! As well as lived experience with Autism!

When meeting, I asked Brea if she could answer a couple questions about herself, her experience and her life, her answers were as follows -

My hobbies include - Dimond art, fishing, and swimming.

My interest are - to travel, go on road trips, attend music festivals and concerts and I love animals and reptiles.

My experience - I have worked in disabilty, age care and mental health for 4+ years, in that time I have learnt all about safe manual handling, to use hoists and pelican belts, and medication management. I also have experience with doing hydrotherapy with participants, as well as the gym and physiotherapy, I love to cooked meals and do meal prep, and have experience in general house duties, taking clients to and from work, appointments and shopping, assistaning them with there daily needs.

About me - I’m very bubbly and out going, I love a good chat and love to explore new things and go on adventures. I love animals but most off all I love my reptiles! I’m very easy going and yet to find someone whom i dont instantly click with! I am a boy mum, and what I love to do in my spare time most, is to watch my son play football and hang out with my family.

Welcome aboard, Brea. I look forward to working along side you and am thrilled to have you onboard with your knowledge and expertise within the disability sector!

The Performing Hearts Theatre’s new upcoming performance ‘The World on Wheels’ is officially on sale at the Sydney Opera House!

‘The World on Wheels’ is created, written and performed by eight individuals with cerebral palsy, who share their love of theatre while advocating for more representation of people with a disability in the arts.

The show explores human relationships, loss, the impact of isolation and the importance of connecting.

What a better way to spend a family day out these holidays than coming down to the Emerton Youth Centre and taking part in the awesomeness that is Youth Week and all the fun and games included, all free of charge! So gather the kids up and head on down this coming wednesday for an amazing time!

And something tells me there may be some goodies given away at the event at 3pm and 6pm for people attending and taking part in the fun and games, idk, just something gives me that feeling!

So come on down for a fun day out with the kids, hosted by the students of Mount Druitt tafe - Youth Work Cert 4 and sponsored by some amazing local small businesses :)

My name is Rebecca and I am a 41 year old life long western sydney local with cerebral palsy. After a life of dealing with disability support services in my home and in my life, around the clock, managing my staff and other services, and 5 years experience working in the industry as an event coordinator, and multiple more years working hand in hand with service providers to ensure quality care for not only myself but other participants I have decided it was time to put my skills, knowledge and experience to use and begin my very own support service company where we are committed to providing the absolute best, top quality services to all our participants!

As someone who has lived this industry from my very first breath, 41 years ago, I know what we as participants need in our life, with our care and support services, and I truly believe I can come through for you with the best quality of care and carers you have ever had. I am committed to this cause and will work tirelessly to ensure your care needs are meet in the best possible way!
