Yesterday, our little learners at Mikarie celebrated Lunar New Year!

They were encouraged to wear red, which is a colour symbolising good fortune, prosperity, and joy in Chinese culture.

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed festive arts and crafts filled with bright reds, and even got to experience a lively dragon parade in the courtyard.

Celebrating Our Sylvanvale Superstar of the Month: David! 🌟

This month, David was recognised by his peers for the outstanding work he does in caring for the people he supports. David consistently handles challenges with ease, demonstrates a remarkable work ethic, and puts thoughtful consideration into his role to ensure everything is done efficiently and effectively.

His keen awareness of even the smallest changes in the moods and health of the people he supports makes him an invaluable member of the Sylvanvale team.

Yesterday, our Executive of People and Culture, Amber, celebrated David’s hard work at an afternoon tea with his team and the people he supports.

The timber products we sell at Craft Centre are built with the help of incredible volunteers, with the people we support lending a hand.

Tony, Mark and Andrew generously donate their time and skills to work with the CCC crew, helping create the toys and wooden products we all know and love. Coming from diverse backgrounds like teaching and real estate valuation, they share one powerful thing in common: a passion for woodworking and a genuine desire to give back.

Celebrating Our Sylvanvale Superstar of the Month: Siulolo! 🌟

Siulolo was recognised by her peers for her incredible flexibility in ensuring the people we support always have access to the care they need, no matter what it takes.

Siulolo’s dedication and teamwork truly embodied our value of Contribution, and our Executive of Operations, John Fawcett, marked this achievement by visiting Siulolo at her site for afternoon tea alongside the team and the people she supports.

A huge thank you to Siulolo for always going above and beyond.

Georges River Yowies invite everyone for a run THIS SUNDAY at 10:15 a.m. boots on! Where? Evatt Park (H.V. Evatt Park) in Lugarno 1116 Forest Road, Lugarno NSW 2210.

Training will be run by the Yowies new head coach, Mr Tom Jones.

Tom’s joining us as a coach for our inaugural season, bringing over 30 years of rugby experience with him. From his early days at West Harbour to playing 200+ games with Petersham Rugby in Div 1 Subbies — and then guiding teams to grand final victories as coach — he’s done just about everything the game can offer.

Tom has also spent time coaching with Renown junior rugby league, and he’s been a volunteer with Special Olympics NSW, providing committee support. That mix of passion, service, and genuine care for people is exactly what makes him such an asset to the Georges River Rugby Club.

Now he’s bringing all of that energy to help make rugby fun, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone who wants to be part of it. Sport brings us together, and our sister club, the Yowies, is lucky to have Tom leading the charge.

Come have a run and sausage sizzle this Sunday… no matter what team you play for! Please come out and help welcome Tom to the family!!!

ANOTHER LOCAL MIXED ABILITIES TEAM HAS BEEN FORMED!

Please help welcome, to the All Abilities stable of teams in Sydney NSW, The Georges River Rugby Yowies!

The Yowies are an extension of the Georges River Rugby Dropbears playing and training at H V Evatt Memorial Park in Lugarno. Training is scheduled for the 4th Sunday of every month starting in January.

The Yowies will be servicing the entire Georges River area (and then some!). Players from Hurstville, Revesby, Padstow, Mortdale, Riverwood, Beverly Hills, Kogarah, Kingsgrove, Bankstown and Blakehurst are all invited… everyone is welcome to learn and participate in the sport, it is said, they play in Heaven.
