Over the past two weeks our sites have been busy spreading the festive spirit with the people we support.

Our Community Day Programs had a blast hosting parties for their participants, and one of our Supported Independent Living homes in the Blue Mountains even had a special visit from Santa, who rode in with the Ulysses Club Inc. Australia Nepean Branch.

Final Game + Christmas Celebration with the Powerful Owls!

What a way to wrap up the year! The Powerful Owls played their final game of the season and celebrated Christmas together as a team and community.

Sylvanvale is so proud to stand alongside the Owls as a sponsor. Watching the people we support get out on the field, playing the game they love, is what it’s all about.
The Owls aren’t just a team—they’re a family. A place where inclusion, connection, and community thrive, and where everyone belongs both on and off the field.

Celebrating Our Sylvanvale Superstar of the Month: Joshua! 🌟

This month, Josh was recognised by his peers for his steadfast contribution to improving the wellbeing of the people he supports.

Josh is a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Sylvanvale, providing therapy services to support people living with disability to develop skills and reach their individual goals.

Recently, he worked closely with families and site managers to make sure three of the people he supports could safely enjoy the Loftus swimming pool, which is an activity they love that’s often challenging to arrange.

A huge thank you to Josh for his commitment and for making a real difference!

Celebrating our Sylvanvale Superstar of the Month: Chanelle! 🌟

Chanelle went above and beyond to empower Choice for the people she supports by creating a recipe book based on their dietitians’ recommendations.

She also introduced weekly meal plans filled with nourishing, wholesome foods that everyone loves.

Thank you, Chanelle, for showing how much you care and for ensuring the people you support have real choice in what they eat. 💙

Big news from Sylvanvale!

We officially opened our brand‑new head office right in the heart of Sutherland last night.

This is a huge milestone in our 77‑year journey of supporting people with disability in the Sutherland Shire. The opening was such a special day, with guests including David Moncrieff MP - Member for Hughes, Jack Boyd - Mayor of the Sutherland Shire, local councillors, board members, life members, and community friends.

A big shout‑out to our Facing Forward group – our Client Consultative Committee – who make sure the voices of people with disability are front and centre in shaping Sylvanvale’s future.

Our new space will give our 60+ head office staff a modern, collaborative environment to keep delivering local, community‑based support.

We also celebrated Kenneth Warburton becoming our newest Life Member! Ken’s family has been part of Sylvanvale for generations, and his fundraising efforts (like the Pre‑WWII Car Show) have made such a difference. It was wonderful to have Life Members David Kelly and Dennis Davies join us too.

That starts with supporting people with disability to live the life they choose and ensuring they have the same opportunities as everyone else. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do.
