As an allied health practice and as a team, we have been implementing changes on a day to day basis to keep everyone safe.

But these changes are also needed for everyday and for everyone.

What are you doing new to protect you and your tribe?

Are you leaving home with the right attitude?::

To maintain a safe distance- shopping aisles, or check out

To avoid touching public points- door handles, ATMs, petrol handles

Sanitize hands in public places

Washing hands for 20 seconds- try counting this amount. You'll be amazed!

If you see a family member or stranger acting in "risky" behavior, maybe a kind explanation might help them be more safe.

Part of the reason I love working in podiatry is because of the broad spectrum of foot related issues we are trained to manage.

We see plenty of people for ongoing foot care related to diabetes.

Diabetic foot ulcers aka neuropathic ulcers, occur when there is nerve damage usually caused by years of bad sugar control. This leads to the person not being able to feel if pressures at the toes, under the foot and even the sides of shoes are causing pain.

As a result this leads to a breakdown of the skin and an ulcer forms.

This poses a serious proplem to the person and if not treated effectively, a serious infection will almost always occur. If not managed well, an amputation may actually save their lives.

Check out this infopic from for a tidy summary of the steps we take to manage these ulcers.

A new paper has just published a simple acronym โ€“ MADADORE โ€“ to try and help busy clinicians remember what they need to do to treat diabetic foot ulcers (DFU).

We take our body for granted.

Sometimes it's on holiday ๐Ÿ›ฉ
Sometimes at work ๐Ÿ’ผ
Sometimes looking at this screen! ๐Ÿ“ฑ

One of the best gifts you can give your self is mindfulness.
YOUR body is truely a wonder and you got to treat it right. ๐ŸŽฏ

Daily "scanning" your body in positions you frequently visit such as sitting on the train, at your desk, and even getting to sleep, will give you insight on what neuromuscular patterns you favor.

Can this be a reason why you are always "tight" in that right neck area?
Is this the reason why your injury flaring?
What are your forehead muscles doing right now?

Or maybe it's a situation like "stress" ( workload, or time constraints) that influences your body to react by tensing up?

Try it now
Try it again later
Keep it simple
Have fun with it.

You will learn so much about your body and Happy Body = Happy Life
