I can not speak highly enough of lavender and why I use her in a lot of my herbal moisturisers and balms
When you smell the sweet scent of lavender, tell me you don’t immediately feel relaxed!?
Traditionally she was harvested in little bunches and placed under pillows, in draws and around floors to deter rodents
Romans used her in their baths, Egyptians in mummifications, and even in the middle ages to prevent the plague
Her kind actions are Carminative, nervous system relaxant, sedative, antispasmodic, anti-depressant, rubefacient, anti-septic(essential oil), aromatic, uterine stimulant, emmenagogue, diuretic, hypotensive, & anti-rheumatic, to name a few
Therefore her medicinal uses are effective in headaches, especially when they are related to stress, in the clearing of depression, especially if used in conjunction with other remedies.
As a gentle strengthening tonic of the nervous system & helpful for nervous debility and exhaustion.
Lavender can be used to soothe and promote natural sleep. Externally the oil can be used as a stimulating liniment to help ease the aches and pains of rheumatism, rubbed into the temples may clear a headache, & for bites, stings, eczema, psoriasis, burns and was even used traditionally for the treatment of head lice.
Spiritually lavender is used in purification & protection.
Shes one of my many favourite herbal allies for her many uses and specialising in nervous system disorders, she comes in very handy a lot of the time.
