Council, together with MusicPro and community partners, is exploring the idea of a Glen Innes School of Arts & Music, and we’re calling for expressions of interest from the community!

The new single 'Serious' by Charli Rose is out now!

‘Serious’ is a delightful indie pop track with harmonious vocals that soar, subdued yet purposeful driving guitar, and capturing melodies.

It was recorded and produced by renowned engineer Gareth Henderson (Birdy, Sash) at Vocal Tech studios, Lake Coogee, Western Australia and is the follow up release to Charli’s celebrated debut EP ‘Letters to Me, Letters to You’, released in 2024.

‘Serious’ is an indie pop song about the conflicting dynamics that can present in someone’s personality and about being consciously aware of looking deeper into behaviour to find alternative meaning.

“I was inspired by someone who wants to be seen and feels the only way to do that is to go to extreme lengths to be noticed. For me it’s important that people accept themselves rather than seek external validation, but also that people be inclusive of others, to make others feel as important as they potentially do and to try to see things from someone else’s perspective.” Charli Rose

The release of ‘Serious’ follows on from several years of accolades for the young singer/songwriter. She was the winner of the WA Junior Country Artist of the year in both 2023 and 2024, as well as a Top 5 finalist for WAM Song of the Year in 2023 for her single ‘Mirrors’ and a finalist again in 2025 for ‘The Last Fairy’ in the 15-18 youth category.
