This week I am using my focus word EXPLORE to explore different perceptions. opinions and new ways of thinking, It's about being open to something different to what you already think, know, believe.

Working with my word has helped me look at my dreams, my perceptions, my feelings, sensations that arise in my body in just a matter of weeks. I feel there is still so much to look at and I'm sure more will arise as this is my word for the year.

Why have a focus word?
It brings meaning, purpose and understanding to my life, it helps me to see things about myself I have either ignored, not seen or pushed away. There are only benefits and seriously, it's not hard, it's actually been interesting and fun.

YOUR BODY WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE NOT SERVING IT

There is nowhere to hide, you can no longer make excuses, the body is telling you it's had enough.

THROAT CHAKRA
When you hold onto tension, when you hold back words and feelings you do it to feel safe, or so your brain thinks. You think you can avoid conflict but really you are creating conflict within yourself, you hold back anger only to get angry at yourself, you are pretending everything is ok when it's not.
Your throat gets tight, rough, sore, you get a niggly cough, an infection all at the cost of protecting others not yourself.

SORE BACK, STIFF NECK
You take on responsibilities that aren't yours, you think by helping others will see your value that you don't. Believing if you don't hold everything together things will fall apart when really, you are the one at breaking point. The back collapses, the shoulders are sore and tired and the neck is stiff and struggles to turn.

THE STOMACH
If you can't digest what you take in, your body stores it as fat, toxins. Acid reflux, digestive issues and ulcers can progress past the point of unprocessed emotions. The body is in distress.
You swallow and push down resentment, you suppress what you don't like because you don't know what to do with it. Pain swirls through the stomach area as it can take no more on.

HEART CHAKRA
The heart pains for unlived experiences, unfelt emotions. You won't allow yourself to feel certain emotions out of shame or fear. In doing so you forego intimacy, connection and forgiveness. The result is high blood pressure, heart skips beats and chest pain.

SKIN
When boundaries exceed through the surface. Skin conditions like rashes, itching, eczema. psoraiss and sudden sensitivity without a known trigger, You might speak your boundaries but you don't adhere to them or you don't respect other people's boundaries or your own. The skin protects what the voice can't. The skin is what keeps you safe from the outer world.

KNEES.
Fear stops you in your tracks, literally. You or the next step feels unsafe and the knees freeze or lock to protect you. You put off decisions, avoid endings, stay with the familiar even when you know it's not right for you, you stay what you have outgrown. The knees say enough and pain surges due to resistance. The body will not walk to a place the mind is afraid of. Knees crack, they become inflammed, there is difficulty with bending or climbing.

THE JOINTS
Pain and stiffness where the mind refuses to go. There is no flexibility within thought, control wants to take the lead, you don't want to be wrong so the body holds fast. There is a heaviness when change is required. Arthritis, joint pain or cracking prevents any forward movement.

MOUTH
The mouth is where truth leaves the body. When needs are silenced, anger swallowed, speak to please the mouth is your vault. The mouth rebels when you do everything against what you want to. Teeth grind, mouth ulcers, jaw tension, clenching are how the how reacts.

EYES
You refuse to see but the body remembers. Eyes are a witness to beyond what they see, red flags, ignoring your intuition, the eyes protect by blurring what your mind won't accept. You overlook betrayal, justify disrespect, minimise pain, pretend things are fine when they are not or stay in relationships or situations where your soul has already checked out. If you saw the truth, it would initiate change and that can be scary.
Where you are not being honest with yourself the eyes blur until you stop lying to yourself. Vision not only blurs but headaches form behind the eyes, the eyes can become sensitive to light, they can twitch or become dry.

When you listen to your body, accept what it is saying and take aligned action you heal., Your pain and discomfort is your true compass. Your head, your ego is what got you to this point.xx
