We can be part of the solution or part of the problem.
It's ok to pivot and recognise what we have done has contributed to the pressure we all feel to conform to the shapeshifting unrealistic weight and body ideals.
If you slip up ( ) call yourself out.
"Oh goodness, I just realised what I said. I'm trying to stop talking about bodies and weight loss because it's harmful for all of us. Let me try again. Hi ......., it's so good to see you, how have you been?"
We actually have no idea what someone's relationship with food and their body is, even if it seems obvious from the outside.
Instead of weight shape and size, focus on what bodies can do or allow us to do. Focus on the idea that your body, our bodies, are doing everything they can to keep you alive and thriving. EVEN when it doesn't meet the current trending western body ideal.
Weight loss is not an automatic portal to health and happiness. It may be a portal to thin privilege but that is a conversation for another day.
