Our Story

Hi! I’m Kate Armstrong the founder and creator for Life Health Fitness & Motivation.

Growing up, I always quite active, from Swimming Club, Netball, Dancing, Hockey and Little Athletics I loved it all. As I got into my mid to late teens sport and exercise did not interest me at all.

I was lucky from my teen years to early 20s that I didn’t really fluctuate in weight or size. At the age of 22 I met my now husband Adam, it wasn’t long before I fell pregnant with my daughter Zara (now 7 years old). During my pregnancy with her, I did not work, I put on a lot of weight. I was over 100kgs. I managed to lose some of the weight and got down to 75kgs. We got married, went overseas, ate and drank way too much, before I knew it I had put on another 11kgs and fell pregnant with my second daughter Indie (now 4years old). I found out that because of my weight, I was at high risk, I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I was shocked I was only 26, in my mind these things only happened to old people. After giving birth to Indie the doctor told me that I needed to lose at least 20kgs in the next 6 months or I would be put on medication. In that moment I knew I needed to change my whole lifestyle.

This is where my fitness journey began. I set myself some goals and joined a gym. A month after joining the gym, they decided to start charging for the crèche I had my child in. I simply couldn’t afford the gym membership plus $3 per child per visit extra fee.
