Different fibres, different jobs, same goal: a healthy gut! 🥑
- Soluble fibre helps to slow things down and this slower absorption also helps balance blood sugar levels.
- Insoluble fibre adds bulk and keeps things moving.
- Resistant starch feeds your gut microbiome and produces short chain fatty acids.
Eating a variety of fibres each day supports healthy bowel motions, reduces inflammation and keep your microbiome thriving. This in turn impacts immunity, digestion and overall wellness!
So load up on fruits, veggies, legumes, wholegrains, nuts and seeds to keep your gut happy and healthy!

Cortisol vs Insulin = your morning energy rollercoaster!
Stress makes your blood sugar spike before your coffee even hits. Insulin scrambles to bring it down, leaving you jittery, craving carbs or crashing mid-morning.
Start with the basics: prioritise rest, snack wisely, take short walks post meals, and maintain quality sleep to keep the rollercoaster smooth.

Your morning coffee isn’t the villain… drinking it on an empty stomach is!!!
When you wake up, cortisol is already naturally high. Add caffeine without food and your stress response spikes even harder leading to jitters, nausea, and the early morning crash.
~ This is especially relevant for females as our bodies are more sensitive to cortisol spikes.
Eating ANYTHING first (especially something with protein + fat) creates a buffer for your gut and stabilises your blood sugar so your coffee actually feels good. If you can't stomach a full meal straight away, here are a few suggestions:
- cube of parmesan cheese
- handful of nuts
- energy ball
- boiled egg
- greek yoghurt + nut butter
Hormones first. Coffee second. Always. 😀☕✨

Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS isn't a single disease, it's an umbrella term for digestive symptoms. ☂
It tells us what is happening, but not why. Maybe it's stress. Maybe it's your microbiome. Maybe your gut just wants a little love and less caffeine.
Either way, healing starts when we shift the questioning from 'How do I treat IBS?' to 'What's driving my IBS?' 🤔

Period pain might be common, but it's not normal. ✨
Intense cramps, mood swings & bloating are your body's way of whispering that something's off balance.
Mild cramping can be normal as the uterus contracts, but if your pain is intense, affects your sleep, mood or daily life it's a sign to dig deeper. It can be linked to inflammation, nutrient deficiencies or hormonal dysregulation.
Supporting your body through nutrition, rest, movement and stress balance can make a world of difference.
You deserve a cycle that feels peaceful, not painful! 🌿

🥗I started studying nutrition because I knew firsthand how deeply it impacts mental health. 🧠🫐

For years I struggled with disordered eating- riding the rollercoaster of restriction, binge, purge and guilt... along with the overwhelming mental toll that came with it.
What I didn't realise was how much my brain and body were crying out for nourishment. 🥬🍇🍅

When I began to understand how food influences energy ⚡ mood 😆 and even thought patterns 🤔…everything shifted!

I discovered nutrition isn't just about 'eating healthy'- it's about supporting your nervous system 🧘‍♀️ nourishing your gut 🍐 and creating balance from the inside out ☯.
Now I have the privilege of helping others reconnect with food in a way that supports both physical and mental well-being. 🥰🌿🤸‍♀️

Remember: 'wellness isn't about perfection, it's about intention' ✨

Fuel your body and your brain, with the power of carbohydrates! 🥔🍓🍚
- The Australian dietary guidelines recommend carbohydrates make up 45-60% of our total calories each day
- As our body’s main source of energy- they keep us active and alert
- Think wholegrains, fruits and vegetables: not only do these provide fuel but also fibre, vitamins and minerals
- Utilise simple carbohydrates before a workout for a quick energy burst and use complex carbohydrates throughout the day to help stabilise blood sugar levels and provide a sustained energy release
