On this beautiful Sunday, we came together for a few hours for an informative and inspiring workshop led by our experienced Pilates instructor, Rita, a qualified Brazilian physiotherapist.

It was so valuable to share questions, exchange ideas, and deepen our knowledge.

We covered topics including osteoporosis, frozen shoulder, hip labral tears, and lower back pain and honestly, we could have kept talking about this all day, all with the goal of continuing to support our clients in the best way possible.

A big thank you to Rita for her incredible knowledge and patience, and to our amazing team for showing up with such interest and enthusiasm.🧡

Nutrition & Lifestyle Foundations

Today we continued our Women’s Health Workshop with Judy Hanavan 🌸

Judy shared five key foundations that can help support women’s health and wellbeing during perimenopause and menopause:

• Prioritising protein to maintain muscle mass and support metabolism;�• Balancing blood sugar for steady energy and mood;�• Reducing processed foods and excess sugar to support hormonal balance;�• Staying well hydrated,�• Moving regularly to maintain strength and resilience.

She also explained that HRT can be an option for some women, but it should always be guided by a qualified health professional.

Small, consistent daily habits can make a big difference in how women feel during this stage of life.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful Women’s Health Workshop led by Judy Hanavan 🌸

One of the key topics we explored was the importance of movement during perimenopause and menopause.

At this stage of life, the right kind of exercise becomes essential to support muscle mass, bone health, posture and overall wellbeing.

Judy highlighted three important types of movement:

• Resistance training to maintain and build muscle;
• Weight-bearing exercise to support bone strength;
• Postural, core and balance work to improve stability and prevent injury.

Another important concept is progressive load, gradually challenging the body with resistance or weight so muscles and bones are stimulated to become stronger over time.

This is where Reformer Pilates can be incredibly beneficial, combining resistance, posture, balance and spinal mobility in a safe and supportive way.

At Active Pilates, we are proud to support women through movement, helping you stay strong, capable and confident through every stage of life.
