Exercise is absolutely important for health no matter who you are, but it’s PARTICULARLY important for hypermobile folks to prevent pain and stiffness.

💡 In fact, hypermobile people need to be stronger than the average person to achieve the same outcomes.

It might feel like even simple exercises feel impossibly difficult - rest assured hypermobile folks gain strength and control at the same rate as the normal population - they often just start from a much lower baseline.

It is vital that exercise is taught at the correct level. Sometimes even beginner classes can be too difficult for the hypermobile person.

If this sounds familiar and you would like some guidance, our physiotherapists would love to help you find movement that works best with you!

Your body is designed to move, movement is medicine. That's why we offer more than traditional physiotherapy at Mind Heart Body Centre - Physiotherapy, Pilates, Meditation.

Our studio combines expert physiotherapy with clinical Pilates, meditation, and specialized therapies like craniosacral therapy and lymphatic drainage. Whether you prefer private sessions or small group classes, we create a safe space for your body to heal, stretch and strengthen.

Improvement doesn't happen overnight, but with consistent care and the right support, your body can surprise you with its resilience.

What type of movement makes you feel most connected to your body?

Hypermobile joints move more! More movement means more energy required for your muscles to keep
the joints in line 💪
Hypermobile folks are found to muscularly fatigue centrally quicker than the general population, which means the brain and nervous system tire out faster!

Many dancers have underlying hypermobility, which can be part of what makes them look so flexible and graceful, especially when they spend a lot of time training movement.

One common symptom of hypermobility is poor proprioception - your body’s awareness of where you are in space, which means that movement that isn’t trained or planned can end in bumps and bruises.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Pei-Jiun! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating our incredible centre owner, senior physio, and Pilates instructor — and wishing her the happiest of birthdays.

Pei-Jiun is endlessly positive, supportive, and dedicated. We absolutely love working with her and hope she’s had the most beautiful day. 💛

P.S. Check out her new toy she’s been loving in Pilates classes… (and loving torturing her clients with) courtesy of 👀✨

Our Story

At Mind Heart Body Centre we believe in addressing the causative factors contributing to your problem and not just the area of pain. At Mind Heart Body Centre our common goal is YOU - working together as a team within our clinic as well as your other treating health professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for you. We understand that with pain and discomfort there often are other factors such as nutrition, mental, emotional and social stress that enter into the equation when treating you. Any of these factors will affect the others and often addressing one, will often have a positive flow on effect to decrease the effect of others. Ultimately we aim to help you balance your mind, heart and body to achieve optimum health and happiness.
