Do you know anyone that identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and has a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or their family, support workers or healthcare professionals?
Researchers from University of Sydney will be at TAMS-AC Tamworth clinic on Tuesday 11 November to have a yarn about a research study designed to understand their challenges when exercising or playing sport.

Yaama!
Sammy and Sally from the TAMS-AC Quirindi team had a proactive time catching up with peers at Wednesdayโ€™s Interagency Meeting.
It's always so great to catch up with other service providers and work on our community collaborations. It's all about discussing how our services best support our communities and our Mob.

After years of hard work and advocacy, the development application for Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service, Aboriginal Corporationโ€™s new, purpose-built health facility has officially been approved by the Northern Regional Planning Panel.

It wasnโ€™t a given. In fact, at the public meeting last month, a number of community members spoke in opposition to the project, and several councillors pushed to delay approval.

But then Damion Brown and Ray Martin took the floor.

Their words โ€“ clear, calm, and full of conviction โ€“ shifted the tone of the room, and by the end of the meeting, the project had received the green light.

Seftons was proud to support this moment: from arranging Rayโ€™s participation, to building the advocacy materials that have helped tell this story in meeting rooms, media headlines, and ministerial briefings.

Thereโ€™s more work to do to get this vital facility built. But for now, weโ€™re taking a moment to celebrate a major step forward for health equity in Tamworth.

Quirindi brought the heat this Halloween ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽƒ
Our tiny but mighty TAMS-AC Quirindi team served up 400+ sausages at the Quirindi Rural Heritage Village Halloween event, and everyone came with a side of community spirit!
Tommy, Fran, Mrs. Mac, Brim, Sammy, and young Harold kept the BBQ sizzling while hundreds of families enjoyed spooky fun along the railway track. It was a night full of laughs, connection, and full bellies.

Big thanks to the Village crew, volunteers, and sponsors for making the magic happen. ๐Ÿ’œ
