VIRAL RECIPES!
Do they work?
Sometimes.
Will they work for you?
Are you the same weight, height, age, gender & body composition as the influencer/fitness model/coach/qualified nutritionist/dietitan re-creating the recipe?
Chances are, no & the exact recipe will not work for you.
One meal doesn’t create change just like one meal off doesn’t undo your hard work.
I re-create a lot of viral recipes for my clients meal plans because they’re fun & who doesn’t want to be enjoying the food they eat!
The majority of viral recipes do fit within 95% of my clients targets HOWEVER, that one meal, can leave no room to move for all other meals that day.
This WILL result in small, lower calorie meals being required for the rest of the day to compensate.
This can leave the client hungry with no energy & potentially overeating later that day or the following day.
That is why you won’t see change.
What do I do?
I change it. I CUSTOMISE it to each client to give them the best chance at having a satiating day as a whole that meets THEIR nutritional requirements & targets.
The majority of viral recipes are shown by & designed for people ‘already there’ or in a build phase. They’re not in a calorie deficit. They have a lot of muscle mass. They’ve been cycling build & cut phases for years. They aren’t going through peri/menopause, they are consistent with their diet, they have a lot more calories to play with.
If you’re following & making recipes you see on socials & you’re not seeing change, it doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t work for you, they may need adjusting or your diet as a whole does. This requires education or a coach to do it first you!
