I need to take a couple of weeks off to help my Dad recover from surgery and keep the farm running and will also use this an opportunity to take a break as well.

Luckily, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to line up visiting physiotherapist, Riley Capra to bring his skills and cover me from Monday 12th March 2023 to Friday 24th March, 2023.

After graduating from James Cook University Townsville in 2018 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Riley has combined this with his background in strength and conditioning training to keep refining his skills treating musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, in particular relating to the shoulder, knee and ankle. He uses a range of manual therapy techniques, dry needling and exercise prescription to ensure client satisfaction whilst adhering to evidence-based practice. If you need some help getting over a nagging issue or a recent injury now’s a great time to get it sorted.

Out of the office Riley enjoys mountain biking, going to the gym, playing table tennis, fishing, and camping. A very keen golfer, he is currently completing his Titleist certification to improve golfers’ swings and performance. Having dealt with several injuries in his teenage years from an active sporting life he has seen first-hand the importance of thorough and individualized assessment and treatment. Riley strives to treat every patient as an individual and aims to tailor each session to meet their individual goals and aspirations. I think he will bring great value to our physio clients during his time in Tamworth!

If you or your friends and family have been wanting to become part of the ST Physio family but haven’t been able to get in before due to the books being closed or the diary booking out, now’s a good time. I’m more than happy to pick up with any treatment plans started with Riley after he finishes.

Here’s an opportunity for people in this part of the world to learn more about lymphodema and it’s management - even virtually if you can’t get to sunny Tamworth!

NEED PAIN RELIEF BUT WE'RE IN LOCKDOWN?

Since the current restrictions I've put safety first and hit the pause button on face-to-face sessions for all but the most vulnerable clients and those with post-surgical rehab.

BUT.... I’ve swapped to online sessions which have been a great alternative and getting good results. These sessions involve a detailed review of your problem, watching you move, testing painful patterns and working out what correctives will work best for you.

I’ll then put together an email containing the details of what we think is going on and what your recovery timeline will look like. Of course, there will also be the usual detailed instructions and exercise videos to watch at your leisure to keep your technique right!

Most health funds offer rebates for this Telehealth option.

As always I offer a 100% refund for anyone who doesn’t feel they’re getting value.

BOOKINGS - either jump online or contact me by phone, SMS or email. I'm also taking on new clients and with this model we can connect no matter where you are.

Here's a direct link to the online bookings:

I hope you’re doing okay at the moment. Although I’ve paused face-to-face sessions, for all but the most vulnerable, I’m offering online sessions for clients suited to this model, so your recovery doesn’t stagnate.

Online sessions involve a review of your recent progress, discussing any issues you’re having and then creating a programme to get your rehab back on track (exercises, stretches etc). I’ll then put together an email containing the details complete with videos of exercises.

I realise it’s not the same as ‘face to face’ care so I’ve changed the model to reflect this. The cost for your session also includes as much follow up via email/text/phone etc (extra video sessions) as you need during that period. Most health funds offer rebates for this Telehealth option.

IF YOU'RE NOT SURE IF THIS SUITS YOU , FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A CALL AND WE CAN DISCUSS IT!

I hope you and your families are doing ok during the current COVID situation. I also would like to thank people for their understanding as I had to pull back from face-to-face treatment sessions.

The good news is I've been doing video-based consulting sessions for a few weeks now and last week even opened the doors, disinfected the room and started seeing a limited number of clients in person again!

So, we now have the option of online or face-to-face treatment sessions. You can book in-clinic sessions online via the link on this page (https://simon-tydd-physiotherapy.cliniko.com/bookings), email (info@tyddphysio.com.au) or SMS (0472912522). If you'd like or need an online session please contact me via one of these options and we can organise that.

I'm not operating at full capacity and am cleaning the room between clients. I'm also back to answering the phone so I apologise in advance if your call goes through to message bank (an email might work better at the moment).

I'm taking a small number of new clients but would like to personally discuss this prior to booking a session. Again, email or SMS would work well and I can call you back.

Stay well, look after yourself and your families.

23/03/2020

I spent a fair bit of time over the weekend talking with colleagues and medical friends and soon made the tough decision to stop doing face-to-face appointments until it is again safe to do so. This is to do my part in helping stop the spread of COVID-19 and help protect those around me, not limited to my family but also my awesome clients and their families.

Despite taking all the precautions I think there's too many opportunities for contamination and transmission in the 'one-on-one', hands on setting.

So, I've cancelled all pending appointments and am thinking how we might be able to move forward past here. For some we can do an online session or something like that - it's evolving fast.

If you've got any questions relating to your ongoing care or would like to discuss your physio related issues, still feel free to reach out and contact me, I'm happy to do what I can to keep looking after you as we move through these interesting times.

Until we next catch up, take care of yourself and those around you.

Best Regards

Simon

It's been a busy month, having had the amazing Rachel Thornton take the reins while I stepped out for a break and did some more training (Immaculate Dissection Core Concepts and Dissecting the Lower Extremity in Mackay).

The big news is we are growing and adding value and choice for our clients! Tomorrow the talented Steph Capel is coming on board. Among her favourite things to treat include sporting injuries, headaches, neck pain, feet, gait & running issues as well as hip, knee and shoulder problems. Steph is also highly competent with dry needling.

We're excited to announce as of tomorrow we're accepting new clients again. We remain committed to providing highly personalised and intelligent care for all our clients!

I'm fortunate enough to have a few weeks out of the office again to do some extra anatomy training, improve the fishing skills and recover from a busy seven months. This is again thanks to the wonderful Rachel Thornton, who will be taking over control of 'physio business' from Mon 22nd July to Fri 16th August.

In her past three month-long visits to Tamworth, Rachel has helped numerous clients with their musculoskeletal injuries and issues, drawing on over 20 years of experience.

Although our books have been closed for the past six months, we are accepting new clients during this time, and you'll be welcome to stay as an ongoing client should you need follow up care.
