🌾 We are rural people who are mighty passionate about bringing high-quality health care to our community. ✨

Neurological Physio Annie takes you inside our accessible Neuro Gym. Our entire centre was built for locals to reduce travel, support ongoing rehab, and provide lifelong neurological care here in Tamworth. We’re also a hub for those living in surrounding towns.

With state-of-the-art rehab equipment, our skilled MDT team of Speechies, OTs, EPs & Physios work together to provide evidence-based care. 💙

✨Welcome to the team, Lydia!✨

We are so excited to have Lydia join the team as our newest Occupational Therapist.

Lydia grew up on a family property in rural NSW, just a few hours from Tamworth (which she proudly calls her second home after attending boarding school here).

Lydia’s professional interests include paediatric developmental stages, adult upper limb therapy, and outreach services to small rural and remote towns, with a strong focus on enhancing accessibility, independence, and life skills.

Lydia has a deep understanding of the challenges rural families face. She is incredibly passionate about improving accessibility to healthcare for rural and remote communities.

We’re so lucky to have you, Lydia — welcome to the Compass family! 💙✨

✨ We’re opening our books to private paediatric Physiotherapy patients in 2026! ✨

We’re excited to announce that we are now accepting referrals for children from birth to 18 years with musculoskeletal concerns.

Our therapists have extensive experience supporting children and their families. We focus on providing:
✔️ Accurate, clear information
✔️ Reassurance and confidence-building
✔️ Play-based strategies for skill development
✔️ Simple, achievable home exercise ideas to help optimise gross motor skills or support injury recovery

We’re passionate about helping little bodies move, grow, and thrive — and we can’t wait to welcome new families into our care next year. 💛

If you’d like more information or to refer, please get in touch with our team.

🌟Meet Shaun🌟

If you’ve followed our page for a while, you’d have seen Shaun feature with AEP Alex working towards his standing and walking goals.
Shaun’s verbal communication has been a barrier expressing his thoughts as speech. Let’s be honest, most of us take that for granted. In our world, being able to say “that’s too heavy,” “my leg feels weird,” “yep, I get it,” or “absolutely not, I’m not doing another rep” is how we keep sessions safe, meaningful and person-centred.
Shaun recently had a customised communication device scripted by his speech therapist, and the difference in the clinic has been enormous.
For the first time, Alex could clearly hear how Shaun was coping, what he wanted to adjust, and when he was ready to push (or when he was ready for a breather). Shaun even has personalised buttons for “one more rep,” “I’m tired,” and the crowd favourite “one schooner of Toohey’s New, please” - Not that Alex can help with that...
He also treated Alex to a cheeky “How about those West Tigers?” because priorities are priorities.

This was their first session using the device… and it was a genuine game-changer.
A huge shoutout to Anabel at for teaming up with Alex to make this possible. Collaboration done right and Shaun is already reaping the rewards.

✨ Play: the beginning learning space for all ✨

For many of our tactile-defensive kiddos, shaving cream can feel like the ultimate challenge… and today, this little legend gave it a go and found the fun in it 👏🤍

Through playful mess comes powerful learning:
🫧 Laughter supports the nervous system to re-regulate
🫧 Shared play creates opportunities for social connection with siblings, family, and therapists (hello polyvagal theory!)
🫧 Cleaning up becomes heavy work, providing rich proprioceptive input and supporting sensory integration
🫧 Natural consequences help build social understanding and skills
🫧 Fine motor skills and bilateral coordination are strengthened as individual fingers are isolated and used with purpose

So proud of this brave moment — trying something hard and discovering joy along the way 💛

🎄✨ Christmas Team Lunch in the Neuro Gym! ✨🎅

Our monthly team lunch got a very merry upgrade this week with our annual Christmas tradition in the Neuro Gym, and the vibes (and food) did not disappoint!

We have even started talks about publishing a Compass cookbook 😂.

Feeling extra thankful for this incredible group of humans we get to spend our days with. ❤️🎄✨
