Trigger point therapy is an extremely effective type of massage. It goes straight to the node deep within the muscle that is causing the patient pain. They are a hyperirritable area that when gently probed cause a significant pain response. Trigger points can be caused by injury, aging, lack of exercise, bad posture, vitamin deficiency, sleep issues, joint problems, or other activities.

What to Expect During Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point massages seeks out those painful spots and applies gentle pressure to them in an effort to release the tightened muscular nodes. These nodes are usually located in the soft tissue areas surrounding an injury.

The greater the number of trigger points, the more extreme the pain can be. Since these nodes reside deep inside the muscle, trigger point massages can resemble deep tissue massage. Trigger point therapy goes directly to the site of the pain.

Trigger point therapy is used to treat a number of conditions. The relief can be felt almost instantly, although the patient might be slightly sore the next day.

Conditions that have had favorable response to trigger point massages include headaches, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, Osteoarthritis, , Sciatica, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sports Injuries, and more.

What to Know About Trigger Point Massages

Trigger point massage therapy has proven to be quite effective treatments when the trigger points are causing the patient substantial discomfort. The relief of the tension caused by the small, deep-seated nodes within the muscle can also prove to ease anxiety and depression that comes from pain.

While it can be compared to deep tissue massage, it is less of an assault on the muscles, instead of focusing only on the nodes that are causing muscle tension and pain.

Upcoming spring is a good time for proper detox of your physical body. Spring means everything wakes up from restful mode of winter. Even your organs are affected by the seasons. Liver, your main detoxification organ, is getting more active during the spring months. I’d like to offer you the best liver cleanse called the Liver Rescue 3:6:9.

I watched a document/movie called Wisdom of trauma over the weekend. It was so touching, inspiring and eye-opening! I cried a lot as I realised that so many of our personal and collective issues truly are trauma based. Yet, there is no education on trauma in medical system, educational system, law system and parenting. We just continue induce trauma on each other without being aware of it.

The main initiator of the movie is Dr. Gabor Mate. Physician who focuses on compassionate approach and healing of addiction, ADHD and childhood trauma.

These are my notes from the movie:

* trauma is not what haappens to you. Trauma is what happens INSIDE of you as a result of what happens to you.

* addiction is a solution to a problem. It’s a response to trauma.

* not why the addiction but why the PAIN! If people are suffering they want to escape their suffering. That’s normal.

* we don’t response to the present moment. We respond to the past.

* we don’t respond to what happens to us. We respond to our perception to what happens to us.

* children have two deep biological needs:
1. Attachment - connection with a person.
2. Authenticity - being connected with yourself and being able to act on it.

* trauma involves a life-long pushing down and tremendous expenditure of energy into NOT feeling the pain. As we heal that same energy is liberated for life and for being in the present. So the energy of the trauma can be transformed into the energy of life.

We can all heal our traumas. And the only person who can do it it’s you.

Most of us are not even aware of our traumas. It might be as simple as not being seen or heard as a child. All of the traumas originate in our childhood. Not being held. Being left crying. Feeling alone and abandoned.

There are lots of techniques which can help to uncover hidden traumas. And be healed.

We need more compassion and empathy for ourselves and the others. We need to face our shadows to be able to reach our full potential and self-love.

I’m a big advocate of emotions/feelings. We’ve been programmed for so long to discard our emotions. We’ve been programmed not to feel them. Sometimes we rather run away from them.

If we only realised our emotions are our best guides!! They can navigate us in your own life.

So often when we feel emotion (especially a negative one) we try to numb it or not to pay attention to it. Often we try to distract it (by going to a gym or by eating comforting food etc).

If you sit with your emotion, feel it fully and validate it, you will be surprised how quickly it will shift and pass through your body.

Honour and listen to your emotions. They are your best teachers.

There is so much trauma in our world and in our lives.

If we want to heal the world we must heal our own traumas first.

Trauma is merely a state of emotional mental distress caused by an experience. And trauma is not necessarily a veritable tragedy. For example, it’s traumatic to experience birth in today’s mainstream medical facilities. It’s traumatic to a baby to be left crying. It’s traumatic a 3-year old to lose track of his mother in a grocery store. With this broad definition of trauma, you can see that even the best parents on earth couldn’t raise a child in a way that the child will experience absolutely no trauma.

Most of our traumas are stored in our subconscious mind so we might not even remember them. Many traumas shape our belief system. If your parents got a divorce when you were young, you might decide that it’s dangerous to love anyone because you loose them. If the pain you felt about this matter interferes with your life enough, the subconscious mind might own that belief. You would than have no conscious awareness of your original thought or belief. You would simply observe that the minute you get too close or intimate with someone, you pull away and end the relationship. As a grown person, you are only aware of the symptom; the root cause of that symptom remain deeply buried in you subconscious mind.

Your emotions and triggers (when somebody does something you don’t like) are your entries to your subconscious mind and your beliefs. You can use them to your healing.

They are your most powerful tools.

Healing our traumas will heal our world.
