🌟 A Milestone Announcement from our AGM! 🌟

On Monday night, at our Annual General Meeting, we were incredibly proud and delighted to announce that two truly remarkable women, Lesley Stemp and Anke De Ruever, have been awarded Life Membership of Dundaloo.

Lesley Stemp joined our Board in 2015, bringing a powerful combination of professional experience and the deep insight of lived experience as the mother and carer for her adult son, Peter. A retired teacher, Lesley's thoughtful leadership and tireless advocacy for people with disability and their families have left a lasting legacy. She has given countless hours to our community and played a vital role in researching and documenting Dundaloo's history, ensuring our story is preserved for generations to come.

Anke De Ruever joined the Board in 2017, sharing her immense wisdom as a retired teacher and her personal perspective as a mother of a child with a disability. Her lifelong dedication to community service is extraordinary, having also served on the boards of the Women’s Refuge, Early Intervention, and Friends of the Manning Gallery. Anke's compassion, wisdom, and steady leadership have been an invaluable gift to Dundaloo.

This high honour for Lesley comes as she also steps down from her role on the Board. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lesley for her years of dedicated service, commitment, and leadership.

At this time, we also acknowledge the resignation of fellow Board member, Deb Stuart. We thank Deb sincerely for her contributions to Dundaloo and wish her all the very best for the future.

Lesley and Deb, your presence on the Board will be dearly missed.

Life Membership is the highest honour we can bestow, and it couldn't go to two more deserving individuals. Please join us in celebrating our new Life Members, Lesley and Anke, and in thanking both Lesley and Deb for their dedicated service! 💙

The Dundaloo team is deeply saddened by the passing of Trent Jennison, former CEO of Valley Industries and a respected leader in the disability services community.

Trent was a passionate advocate for inclusion and accessibility. His leadership and vision created a lasting impact—not only within Valley Industries but across the entire sector. Though we represented different organisations, we shared a common goal, and his influence was felt far beyond his own team.

Our heartfelt thoughts are with Trent’s family, friends, and the Valley Industries community during this difficult time. His legacy will continue to inspire us as we work together toward a more inclusive world. 💙
