Kuldeep Randhawa – Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Tatura Hospital & Parkvilla Aged Care

Originally from India, Kuldeep Randhawa moved to Australia in 2008 and began her career in aged care — gaining the confidence and experience that would eventually lead her to GV Health.

Starting as a casual nurse at Tatura in 2018, Kuldeep completed her Registered Nursing degree and graduate year and now serves as Associate Nurse Unit Manager across the Tatura campus.

“It’s a busy role, but I always get to focus on patients and support the staff clinically,” she says. “We work as a team. It’s all about safety, quality, and wellbeing.”

Supported by colleagues and encouraged to grow, Kuldeep is now completing her master’s in palliative care.
“I’m proud to serve my community and make a difference — even in small ways. Putting a smile on someone’s face means everything.”

Thank you, Kuldeep, for your leadership and care.

Exciting news! GV Health is the first regional public health service in Victoria to offer cochlear implant surgeries outside of metropolitan Melbourne, delivered in partnership with the The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Today we celebrated this milestone with a visit by Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP and the first patient to have the cochlear implant surgery at GV Health, Sue.

Before receiving a cochlear implant, Sue relied on hearing aids, but as her hearing declined, even these aids could no longer keep her connected to the world around her.

Sue describes the decision to get a cochlear implant as “the best decision ever for me and also my family.” Her advice to others facing similar challenges is simple but powerful: “Don’t hesitate to explore this option—it can be life-changing.”

Sue's story highlights the importance of accessible cochlear implant services for all Victorians, regardless of where they live, and serves as an inspiration for others who may be hesitant to take the next step towards better hearing.

Parkvilla residents and staff recently came together for a presentation on the new Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

Each of the seven standards was shared and discussed, with residents given the opportunity to ask questions and learn how the changes will support quality care.

Staff from across Parkvilla proudly displayed the standard most relevant to their role — from kitchen staff highlighting Food and Nutrition, to nursing teams focusing on Clinical Care, and administration representing The Residential Community.

It was a great session promoting understanding, teamwork and continuous improvement in the care we provide.

Sadie Vale – Clinical Area Educator

Born and raised just outside Rushworth, Sadie Vale’s career in nursing began in Melbourne and led her back to her roots, where she’s spent nearly three decades caring for her local community with GV Health.

After years in city hospitals and long commutes, Sadie took a chance on a District Nursing role at Waranga Memorial Hospital in 1995. It was a turning point. “I was a bit apprehensive… but once I started, I loved it.”

Since then, she’s combined leadership and education with hands-on care — supporting clients in their homes, mentoring students, and helping shape new models of care for small communities like Tatura and Rushworth. From clinical standards to community compassion, Sadie has done it all.

“Caring for people in their homes is a privilege. It’s been a great journey; it is hard work but deeply rewarding.”

Thank you, Sadie, for your decades of service, leadership, and care.
