There’s a lot of hype around bone broth — and for good reason. It’s one of the most affordable, nutrient-dense ways to support your immune health this winter.
Bone broth is rich in minerals, collagen, and amino acids that nourish your gut, reduce inflammation, and help strengthen your immune response. And when your gut is thriving, your immune system is much more resilient.
Here’s my go-to method:
Grab some chicken bones (leftover roast works great) or beef bones — I like to pre-roast beef bones and include marrow bones from the butcher (ask them to cut them to fit your slow cooker). Add bones to your slow cooker with onion, garlic, celery, and carrot (no need to peel), cover with filtered water, add pepper and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and let it slow cook.
Chicken: 12–24 hours.
Beef: 24–36 hours (until the bones are brittle).
Let it cool, strain out bones/veg, and store in the fridge for 5 days or freeze in portions.
If you can't be bothered making, then buy some from a health food store. It's just not as cost effective!
It’s an easy way to care for your gut and immune system from the inside out.
