When you’re getting your child ready for school, keep in mind some of the back-to-school asthma triggers.
Viruses, foods, air quality, emotions and exercise can all lead to more asthma flare-ups for some young people.
Every year there is a rise in the number of kids who go to hospital due to asthma within the first few weeks of school returning.
We want to stop this back-to-school asthma spike.

We are encouraging parents and carers to visit their doctor prior to returning to school.

Check that the medicines that are left at school are still in date, and as a backup - purchase additional reliever medication, spacer, and mask (as needed) for use at school and ensure these are clearly labeled with their child’s details

COVID-19 may have changed our day-to-day lives but you shouldn’t put your health on hold.
Keep up with your regular health care appointments. It’s safe to visit your GP for health checks in person. Telehealth services are also available.
