💔 Our Girls Are Growing Up Too Fast 💔
Some days it feels like childhood is on fast-forward.
We’re watching little girls rush to become women — before they even know who they are. 💔
The world is selling them a version of “glow up” that has nothing to do with confidence, kindness, or character… and everything to do with appearance and approval.
And I’ll be honest… I’m guilty of it too.
I’ve bought into the need for my daughter to fit in — the skincare, the phone, the “but everyone else has one” moments.
Because finding the balance is hard.
The “everyone else is doing it” pressure is real.
We don’t want to be that strict parent.
We don’t want our girls to feel left out or excluded.
But sometimes, saying no is the most loving thing we can do. ❤️
I’m working on slowing it down. Let’s protect their innocence a little longer.
Because they don’t need:
🚫 10-step skincare routines with actives that damage young skin
🚫 Lash extensions
🚫 Snapchat drama / streaks
🚫 Phones glued to their hands 24/7
🚫 E-bikes and e-scooters giving them freedom they’re not ready for
🚫 “Body count” scores like it’s a competition
🚫 Seltzers and vodka cruisers at 14
🚫 The constant peer pressure to keep up
🚫 Life revolving around the UV rays
Whilst picking my battles I’m working on:
💗 Boundaries that feel like love
💗 Improving co-parenting
💗 Lessons about real friendships built on trust, not likes
💗 More sunshine, sport, laughter, and music
💗 Less phone time
💗 Values led decisions
💗 Clear goals & purpose
💗 Priorities
Let’s be the generation of Mums who say:
You don’t need to grow up overnight.
You are enough — just as you are. 💞
Because one day, we’ll look back and realise…
they didn’t need the world to like them —
they just needed us to slow it down. 💞
