The key focus area for Movember Australia 2025 is to change the face of men's health.

More than 1.4 million men are diagnosed each year with prostate cancer. It's one of the most common cancers in older men.

Quite often, early prostate cancer causes no issues or symptoms. Sometimes there are issues that could point to signs of prostate cancer including trouble with leaking urine.

Do you know your risks and when to start to discuss with your GP:
* when you have any smptoms or concerns
* you are 50 or older
* you have a family history - a father, brother or uncle

Remember: early detection is key. This means understanding your risk of prostate cancer.

Your doctor is happy to provide more information.

The key focus area for Movember Australia 2025 is to change the face of men's health.

Do you have a friend who's been avoiding social situations? Getting easily frustrated? Or just generally acting out of character?

Use ALEC to help you navigate a conversation with a friend who might be doing it tough:
* Ask - how he is feeling - "You haven't seemed yourself lately - are you feeling ok?
* Listen - give your full attention to hear what he's saying and you are not judging
* Encourage action - suggest to share his feelings with others he trusts and if more than 2 weeks suggest that he chat with his doctor
* Check in - suggest that you catch up soon in person if you can

A huge thanks to R U OK? for developing the ALEC model.

If you are feeling low or overwhelmed your doctor is here to help.

Globally men are dying too young - largely from preventable causes.

The key focus area for Movember Australia 2025 is to change the face of men's health.

The focus is on specific men's health issues:
• Mental health
• Suicide prevention
• Prostate cancer
• Testicular cancer

Here’s five ways men can give themselves the best chance at living a healthy and long life:
1. Your mates are important so catch up regularly and spend time with people who make you feel good
2. Talk more – you don’t have to have all the answers but being there for someone, listening and giving your time can be life-saving
3. At 50 talk to your doctor about prostate cancer – know your risks
4. Get to know what’s normal for your testicles, talk to your doctor if something doesn’t feel right
5. Get out and move, add more activity to your day, take a walk, walk up the stairs instead of the lift, cycle to work instead of driving

Do you have any concerns or want to know your risk factors? Talk to your doctor, ask for testing.

Let's continue to encourage conversations about mental health and help reduce the stigma.

Social connection and connection with community is so important for mental health. So let's get connected to:
* friends, loved ones, your mob
* sports club
* multicultural centre
* community group like garden or mens shed
* book club
* running group
* look out for a social group that suits your interests

If you are feeling isolated, alone, please don't suffer in silence and reach out for support when you need it.

Worldwide, one in three women and one in five men aged 50 years and over will suffer an osteoporotic fracture.

The 5 steps to healthy bones and a fracture-free future:
• Exercise regularly keep your bones and muscles moving
• Ensure your diet is rich in bone-healthy nutrients
• Avoid negative lifestyle habits
• Find out whether you have risk factors – talk to your doctor if you have had a previous fracture, family history or take medications that affect bone health
• Get tested and treated if needed – if you are at high risk you may need medication and lifestyle changes to protect yourself against fractures

Have risk factors? Talk to your doctor, ask for testing.
