Cad Cam Orthotics was founded in 1997 by a small team of podiatrists looking to manufacture their own orthoses using the latest CADCAM technology. For many years Cad Cam Orthotics was a boutique laboratory producing highly customised devices for a small number of clinics. We then decided to expand our services introducing the LaserCAM Orthotics software system and unique methods of prescription to not only the Australian, but the global podiatry community.
If you have never prescribed a pair of Cad Cam Orthotics EVA orthoses, then we highly recommend you do! Our precise methodology combined with your high-quality foot capture means a controlling and comfortable product for your patient. We are confident that we can offer a custom orthosis solution that could assist your most challenged patient.
Our process is simple, yet meticulous. All physical media (casts, foam-impressions, etc.) are converted to a digital format and then aligned according to prescription measurements provided by the podiatrist or measured at the lab. We then use accurate CNC technology to machine models generated with our LaserCAM Orthotics CADCAM system. After machining, our skilled technicians apply modifications and top-cover materials, with orthoses going through three separate quality control stages to ensure that you get the best possible product.
We have developed the LaserCAM Orthotics CADCAM system through the help of our community of customers over the past decade. We are thrilled to be able to provide our clients with LaserCAM Orthotics software at no cost. All you will need is an appropriate PC and a high-quality 3D scanner and you will be able to design your patient’s orthoses in-clinic!
We believe that there should be an industry standard for ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) products used to manufacture custom orthoses. We routinely test the mechanical properties of our EVA to ensure optimal compression set (%) and consistency in density. We do not heat our EVA as this compromises the structural integrity of the material, instead we cold-cut EVA blanks using CNC routers. Our orthoses are built to last.
Our training services cover the entire range of skills that are involved in the prescription and manufacture of custom foot orthoses. We make a determined effort to provide face-to-face training for all podiatrists that are new to using Cad Cam Orthotics. Our training is provided by experienced technicians and qualified podiatrists.
Our prescription methods allow for more consistent and well understood outcomes. We don’t use arbitrary measurements, instead each prescription variable is based on specific changes to the orthotic surface, which we believe helps our users to comply with the latest evidence-based practice standards.
Our customers absolutely love our latest 3D scanning solutions. We are confident that an investment in a high-quality 3D scanner will end up saving your clinic a considerable amount of time and money.
Our latest LaserCAM Orthotics VPS 3D scanner can be coupled with a carry-case and laptop for the perfect portable solution. The scanner runs on rechargeable battery power meaning there aren’t tons of messy cables to plug in each time that you want to take a scan, just one simple USB cable.
With each scan taken your clinic saves time and money. We estimate that compared with a traditional suspension casting technique you will save 11 minutes per patient and close to $10 on consumables and freight. There’s no mess to clean and your patients will be more comfortable than ever.
