Hello everyone… (I did write a long introduction with information when I first set up this page but it seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Sorry about that if you are new to me and haven’t been able to find any information. )
I’m a traditionally Chinese medicine trained acupuncturist but have also done a years post grad studies in Japanese Acupuncture. The main difference for you is that the needle technique with Japanese Acupuncture is much gentler and a much more shallow insertion. Most people find it very comfortable and not at all painful which I love. I graduated at the end of 1989 so have over 30 years experience. And that also brings with it a lot of life experience as well. Professionally I’ve worked in Womens Health Centres, Aboriginal men’s drug and alcohol half way houses, Detoxes, Rehab Hospitals, and private clinics both in Sydney and in the Illawarra. Personally I’ve been through a lot too that’s involved PTSD, trauma and loss. I’m no stranger to emotions and yours are welcome in my clinic.
I don’t separate a person off .. I see and treat them as a whole… Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual and I like to work with all of it and all the various ways they can present and effect us. You can’t separate them off… we are all of them. Many years ago now I also studied Craniosacral therapy which is a beautiful , gentle hands on treatment that I’ve found works really well with acupuncture. It can help many things from neck pain to headaches to back pain to emotional stress and more. I don’t always do CST with acupuncture but it’s another tool if we need it.
I’m a traditional acupuncturist so consultation always involves checking in with you on how you are, tongue and pulse and sometimes abdomen diagnoses, followed by needling and sometimes CST, cupping and or moxibustion.
I treat a wide range of conditions and physical and mental health issues, and also refer to other practitioners and drs when appropriate and necessary. Sometimes it takes a team… 😊.
