MEET THE LAND...

Yesterday, I shared a little video speaking to the potency of questing at this time.

And today, I'd love for you to meet the land that awaits you...

She has the most gentle nature - even my children feel safe spending the night in her embrace.

She'll hold you, protect you, guide you, and when she senses you're ready, she'll share her wisdom with you! ☀️

THE JOURNEY...

I love the way poetry speaks directly to the soul.

I could hear or read the same words - shared in a different format - and resonate to some extent.

But poetry is different - it stirs something deep within, a deep inner knowing that connects us to the truth of life.

That's what 'The Journey', by Mary Oliver, does for me.

It's one of the many poems I share during Wild Quest because it offers some context (whilst speaking to the soul) of what lies ahead.

The quest looks different for everyone, but generally speaking, it's not a leisurely walk in the park.

More often than not, it's wild nights, roads full of branches and stones, and voices shouting at you to turn back.

But with the words of Mary Oliver still fresh in our minds, we know what to look out for.

We can acknowledge it, thank it for trying to protect us, and then carry on knowing THIS is our journey!

L  I  M  I  N  A  L    S  P  A  C  E

Its such a strange time - this liminal space between Christmas and the new year!

Yesterday I barely got out of bed. I stayed in my pyjama's for most of the day, read my book, drank tea, napped.

While there was a part of me that said 'you really should DO something' - another part (the part that advocates for rest) firmly dug her heals in.

There's something quietly nourishing about this time - when we intentionally choose to stop 'doing', to rest and reflect on the year.

As I look back on the past year (the year of the Snake), I find myself wondering if there's something still lingering?

Do I still have one final layer to shed before I step into the next year (the year of the Horse)?

With the Chinese new year officially beginning in February, our next round  Wild Quest will be right at the cusp of these two powerful animals.

An opportunity to shed those final layers - any lingering patterns, habits, ways of being, that we're finally done with!

In a wilderness quest, we intentionally step into the liminal, the space between the old and the new.

And in the stillness and silence, we allow for what needs to surface, to be acknowledged and shed - AND for what's ready to emerge!

Its a potent time to draw on the energy of these two powerful guides  - one supporting us to let go, and the other helping us move forward.

So if you're finishing the year feeling not yet complete, I invite you to join us for our next round of Wild Quest - January 12th - 15th, 2026!

You'd know if this was for you because your soul would have been nudging you for weeks - whispering 'go, just do it, leap! 🌿🐍🔥🐎

LESSONS FROM A LITTLE EEL

We have a precious little eel that lives in our beloved swimming hole - the rainbow pool.

Several weeks ago at Wild Space, I shared the story of this eel with our families.

The way he hides in the shadows and waits until he feels safe to venture out and see who's come to visit.

He's such a curious little thing, often swimming right up to our feet and resting in the shallows, watching us intently.

Sometimes, children will reach down and try and touch him - at which point, he swims away and hides again.

He's teaching them, in his own perfect way, how he likes to connect and what he needs to feel safe!

I wonder what they're teaching him?

I hope it's that there are still people in the world who care enough to listen.

OUR FINAL GATHERING

Friday was our last Wild Space gathering for the year - and honestly, it was up there as one of my favourites!

With temperatures in the 30's, we decided to set up base camp at our beloved swimming hole and spend the whole day here!

We shared food and gratitude, worked on weaving projects, sculpted bowls with clay, whittled spears, made boats, and wandered upstream in search of new places to play.

With so much happening in the world today, days like this feel so incredibly important - for the parents as much the children.

Just being in the forest alone does wonders to the nervous system.

Being in the forest with your community, with no expectation other than to simply be in the moment, has a ripple effect on the collective nervous system.

At Wild Space, we're changing the narrative, shifting from this grind culture so many of us have grown up in, and showing our children there's a different way.

So, to all the families that have blessed this space and helped create what it is today - THANK YOU 🙏🌿🪺🦜🌸🦋

BONUS OFFER - 2 FOR 1

Between now and Christmas, I'm offering everyone that books into our next Wild Quest, a free spot in our new workshop, Weaving the Wild.

This workshop moves beyond 'how to weave' and explores the art of deep listening, plants spirit communication, and co-creating with nature.

The first day (what you receive in your bonus) explores our connection with the land and how to ethically harvest, prepare, and weave a small native basket.

The second day (for those wishing to dive deeper) explores the idea of nature as a mirror and how we can be in reciprocity with the land.

Reply with a 🌿 and I'll send you the details!

MY HANDS REMEMBER

When it all feels too much and my physical mind can't take any more in, my hands turn to weaving.

This ancient practice tends to our ancient nervous system.

The part of us that's hardwired for deep connection - with nature and self.

And the part we seem to have forgotten about in our modern culture.

There's a reason so many of us today are drawn to learning ancestral skills and practices.

We know on a deep level, they help us return to our true nature 🌿

BEING WELCOMED

You know how it feels when you arrive somewhere new - somewhere you've never been to before - and you're warmly welcomed?

Whatever you came with (the nerves, uncertainty, anticipation...) all begin to settle when someone steps forward and greets you.

Now compare that feeling to arriving somewhere and no one even notices you?

Perhaps everyone's deeply engaged in conversation and didn't see you walk in?

Or maybe something happened just moments before you arrived, and the energy of the event hasn't yet dissipated?

There's a stark difference in the felt sense of each experience - something that impacts how safe you feel within the space.

The same is true when you visit a new landscape!

When you arrive at a new place, the land has its own way of welcoming you - or not!

Sometimes, the response is based on your energy or your intentions for being there.

And sometimes it's based on what's happening within the environment - outside of you!

The important note here is whether you listened and respected the land - in welcoming you or not (at this time).

This is one of the first practices I offer at Wild Quest - and for many, it marks the first time (in their adult life) that they deeply listened to the land.

WHY QUEST?

Our lives are so full of distractions - and many of us do whatever we can to keep it that way!

We distract ourselves with food and drinks, digital devices, work, study, household chores...

Why? Because it's easier to be distracted than to actually FEEL what's really going on - under the surface.

⚠️ Maybe it's the job you've been doing for years that pays the bills but destroys your soul?

⚠️ Or the study you've been trying to finish that's so close but has stopped feeling aligned?

⚠️ Or perhaps the relationship that you've slowly outgrown but feels like there's too much at stake to walk away?

When do you allow yourself to truly FEEL what's really going on in your life?

My guess - almost never!

🌿 Wild Quest offers a safe, intimate container that creates space for whatever it is that needs to surface and be acknowledged.

🌿 It provides an opportunity to experience how it feels to be held and supported by nature, to co-regulate and open to the intelligence of the natural world.

When we remember how connected we are to the web of life, we see that we dont need to 'go it alone' - that support is always available to us.

And THIS (I believe) is what allows for change to take place.

So, as scary as it may feel, are you ready to lean in?

Our next round of Wild Quest is coming up in a couple of months on January 12th -15th, 2026!

I invite you to join us for 4 incredible days on the land - on our beautiful Gumbaynggirr country.

Early Bird special closes in just under a week - on December 1st (saving you $100 off the regular price).

RECLAIMED BY THE WILD

'To be still in the wilderness, in our modern times and worldly business, is to me, an absolute blessing, a service to the soul, a christening if you like.'

(Joyful, Wild Quest)

How often do you pause and notice what's happening around you?

🐦 Do you let your ears fill with morning birdsong?

🌬 Or track the wind as it moves through the trees?

🐾 Do you take your shoes off and walk barefoot on the cool Earth?

🌲 Or breathe in the forest - remembering how it gives you life?

🍂 Do you allow your eyes to follow the path of a falling leaf?

🌱 Or let your fingers explore the soft texture of moss at the base of a tree?

Consciously spending just 10 minutes in nature shifts something within us...

Can you even imagine what 24 hours might do?

A wilderness quest re-ignites something deep within our soul - something our modern lives can't reach.

When we enter the wild, our body remembers.

It's in our DNA, in our memories, in the stories of our ancestors.

The one who ventures out - full of questions, doubts and fears....

Is not the same as the one who returns.

We are reclaimed by the wild - and now we carry it as our birthrite!

Our next round of Wild Quest is Jan 12th-15th, 2026 - will you be joining us?
