Last week our director Connie went to Adelaide SA to attend the Australian Physiotherapy Association Scientific Conference. The 3 day event was filled with insightful clinical research, star studded guest speakers and heaps of innovative technologies! This event is held every 2 years nationally, and had over 1000 physiotherapists attend.

Connie focused her attention in attending musculoskeletal and women’s health seminars / plenaries. A lot was learnt and she looks forward to continuing to provide up to date evidence based care for the Northside Physio community 🌻

It wasn’t all so serious, with the finale at the Gala Dinner themed “Back to the 80s” 💃🏽🪩 swipe across to see some serious dance moves 🕺🏼

Tomorrow is our superstar and fearless manager Hayley’s last day 🥺🤩 Hayley has been with Northside Physio since 2021 and has helped the clinic grow to what it is now.

If you ever had the pleasure of being treated by Hayley you would know that her assessment and treatment skills as a physio are unparalled. Her finesse for diagnosis and treatment of injuries has seen her grow a wonderful following here within the Northside community 🌻 If you haven’t had an elbow from Hayley over the last four years you’ve really missed out!

Besides being a 10/10 physio, Hayley is an amazing human to work alongside and befriend. Her love for footy, F1, running, dogs, babies, coffee, food and all round good time makes her the ultimate work buddy. Everyday working with her was a delight (even when the Saints lost on the weekends). You can always rely on her for good banter, laughs, quick quips, having your back and giving 100% to the team 💪🏽

We will miss you both as physio and manager, but mostly as our friend 👯‍♀️ We wish you all the best in your new role in Lilydale 💛 But first enjoy your well deserved holiday in Sri Lanka ✈️

Can you see that very fine needle? 👀
That is a dry needle and is 0.3mm thick and is similar to an acupuncture needle. It’s used by both our physios and myotherapists as a treatment option.

Dry needling can be effective in treating pain and reducing muscle tension. Coupled with other hands on techniques from our clinicians here at Northside Physio we aim to improve your symptoms and function 💆🏼

Meet Angus!! 🌻
It’s been a busy month at the clinic welcoming and farewelling staff. Angus, Northside’s newest physio joined us last week.
Angus has worked across Australia and the UK, bringing a wealth of experience back to Melbourne. After completing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at James Cook University, he gained valuable skills on the Gold Coast and in Melbourne before heading overseas to work in London, Cardiff and Glasgow. Angus has a strong passion for sports and surf-related injuries, but also enjoys treating a wide range of conditions that come through the door. He uses a combination of hands-on therapy and exercise-based treatment, always making sure the exercises he prescribes have been tried and tested himself. With additional training in Clinical Pilates, Dry Needling and Strength & Conditioning, Angus is well-equipped to help you recover and perform at your best. Outside the clinic, he loves music, heading out for a surf, and supporting his beloved Melbourne Demons at the footy.

Northside Physio will be closed Friday 26/06 for the Grand Final Eve Public Holiday. Classes and normal clinical hours will resume as of Saturday 27/09 🌻

For those of you who may have missed it, we sadly said farewell to our Physio Sarah on Saturday. Sarah has been with us since February this year and is now returning home to the UK (via Japan for a short holiday) to continue her work as a Physiotherapist. We will miss having her smiling face around the clinic everyday, and we wish her all the best for the future and safe travels on her holiday in Japan! 💛🌻

We celebrated in the clinic on Thursday with DOUBLE cake (cause everyone gets their own cake 🍰)

Northside Physio welcomes our newest Physio - Ella!
Ella has completed both her Master of Physiotherapy and Batchelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Swinburne University. Her passion for private practice and musculoskeletal physiotherapy started with her role of Strength and Conditioning coach at Haileybury College.
Ella’s interests include Clinical Pilates, spinal pain and adolescent health! She is available in the clinic from Monday-Friday with alternating Saturdays 🌻

Our newest Myotherapist at Northside Physio! Arthur is a Northside local with a passion for helping people move and feel better, whether it’s assisting them with their injury, rehabilitation or chronic pain. Arthur brings experience from working in both elite sport and the private practice setting. Through his treatment, Arthur adopts a tailored, hands-on approach using techniques like massage, cupping, and dry needling, to support your recovery and wellbeing. Arthur will be available at Northside Physio on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons starting August 26.
