Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

A day to celebrate the incredible, unique, and diverse individuals on the autism spectrum, and to recognise the strengths, talents, and perspectives they bring to our world every single day.

It’s also a reminder to keep learning, listening, and creating spaces where everyone feels understood, accepted, and supported for who they are.

Let’s choose kindness, patience, and inclusion not just today, but always.

LEGO can be such a powerful way to engage children, creating a safe and relaxed space to talk through any worries they may be facing.

This term, Jack and I have been working together to build a 675-piece Luke Skywalker helmet and today we finally finished it!

Along the way, we were also able to build something even more important: the tools and confidence he needs to navigate the worries and stressors he’s been experiencing.

Well done, Jack 👏 I’m so proud of you!

Tomorrow is Purple Day. 💜 Purple Day is a global day dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy and supporting the millions of people and families living with it.

There are many simple ways to get involved:
💜 Wear purple to show your support
💜 Share information to help raise awareness
💜 Check in on families living with epilepsy

For families affected by conditions like PURA syndrome, epilepsy is part of everyday life. Awareness matters, but so does action. To read more about our epilepsy research visit https://www.purafoundation.au/research

Together, we can build understanding, support families, and accelerate the research needed to change the future. 💜

🌍 Happy World Social Work Day! 🌍
Today we celebrate the incredible work of social workers everywhere and the positive difference they make in the lives of children, families and communities every day.

A special shoutout to our amazing social workers, Ceri and Bethan, whose dedication, compassion and advocacy help create safe, supportive and empowering spaces for the young people and families we work with. Your commitment to listening, supporting and championing others truly embodies what social work is all about.

Thank you for the care, patience and passion you bring to your work each day. We appreciate you! 💙

On International Women’s Day, I feel really lucky to work alongside two truly incredible women at Helping Hand Therapy.

Kathryn Shutt is an amazing physiotherapist, devoted mum and grandmother, and one of the kindest people you could meet. Her wisdom, warmth and huge heart make such a difference to everyone around her.

Bethan Shutt is our wonderful senior social worker and an absolute force of strength. As a mum to five children with additional needs, she brings such deep compassion, resilience and real-life understanding to the families she supports every day.

And I’m proud to stand beside them too. I’m Ceri Greer, senior social worker and mum to four wonderful boys. I’m incredibly passionate about advocating for children and young people, making sure their voices are heard, supported and given every chance to thrive.

I feel incredibly grateful to stand alongside these women. They are mothers, professionals, advocates, carers, and leaders in their own ways. They show every day what strength, empathy, and dedication truly look like.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there. 💜
