'I work in the disability sector because I know first-hand how important it is to support people living with a disability. I have always been inspired to help anyone and everyone I can, especially those who may need extra help.

No matter who you are, or what you are going through, we are all human and as tough as humans are, we are quite fragile and that is okay! Be happy and enjoy the little things – moment by moment. Be fragile, be tough and most importantly, be human.

Working at Carpentaria is so rewarding. The career opportunities here are amazing, and I feel very grateful to be part of the team.'

We were pleased to have the opportunity to present an overview of our Ready for Home - Out of Hospital Care Program to NT Health's Aged Care Unit as part of their recent Community Aged Care Connecting Day.

Delivered in partnership with NT Health, the program offers a holistic multi-disciplinary approach to support reablement and reconditioning goals, and has so far supported 85 patients as they transition from hospital to a longer-term accommodation placement.

We are proud to work collaboratively to support and provide positive transitions that make such a tangible difference in the lives of older Territorians.

Today, we proudly hosted the first Coffee with the Chamber NT for 2026 in partnership with Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory.

The morning brought together professionals from diverse industries across the Northern Territory, creating valuable opportunities for connection, collaboration and conversation.

We were pleased to welcome guests to our space and engage in meaningful discussions over coffee at the Cafe at Harry's Place’s Place. We look forward to further strengthening relationships that support our community and local businesses.

'The most enjoyable part of working in the disability sector is knowing I can make a positive difference in people’s lives by supporting them to live with dignity, independence and joy.

A memorable moment this year was taking a participant to visit his family in Melbourne. Watching him reconnect with his loved ones
was incredibly moving. Being part of such an important journey reminds me how meaningful our role is in supporting not just daily needs, but also emotional and cultural wellbeing.

I enjoy forming genuine bonds with participants and getting to know their personalities, interests and stories. It is incredibly rewarding
to make a positive difference in people’s lives every day.'
