It has been a very difficult time for a lot of patients who have had their elective surgery cancelled over the last four weeks. The uncertainty associated with this has been extremely stressful for you all.

We are pleased that these bans, enforced by the Marshall Government and The Police Commisioner, have now been eased.

As of February 7th, 2022, ONLY day surgeries can recommence. This will be followed by a step wise increase in elective surgery, including joint replacement surgery, in both the public and private sector over the ensuing weeks.

We at Adeladie Hip and Knee Centre are here to help you. It is going to be extremely chaotic for our staff over the next few days as we are re-organising surgical dates for you. PLEASE be patient with our staff as they are currently handling an unprecedentant number of phone calls. If you can't get through, please leave a message on our answering service or contact us via Facebook, and we will return your call within 48 hours.

Thank you for understaning.

BREAKING: We have outlined a gradual return of elective surgery, allowing South Australians to schedule their important procedures - some as early as next Monday.

I really want to thank those who have had their surgeries postponed during this challenging time.

But by working together we have managed the Omicron wave better than many other states, and are now seeing a steady decline in new cases.

By the end of this month we plan to resume all public and private hospital elective surgery procedures.

As of 23/11/21, patients will need to show proof of vaccination or of a negative COVID swab on entry to Burnside Hospital. Patients can only be accompanied by 1 support person or parent. This person must be vaccinated. Unfortunately, due to hospital policy, children under 12 will not be allowed to attend appointments unless they are the patient. Screening and Mask requirements will continue unchanged. Thanks for your understanding.

To stop the spread of COVID-19 in South Australia, new restrictions will come into effect from 6pm Tuesday 20 July 2021.

There will be 5 essential reasons to leave your home:
▪ Undertake essential work.
▪ Shop for essential goods and services (including takeaway).
▪ Medical reasons (including COVID-19 vaccination and testing).
▪ Care and caregiving.
▪ Exercise (with people in same household).

More information will be made available soon at www.covid-19.sa.gov.au

A list of essential workers is available at www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0019/420391/Public-Activities-Level-5-Essential-Workers-List.pdf

If you are in quarantine because you have visited a COVID-19 exposure location or have been directed by SA Health to quarantine, you must stay at home (except in an emergency or to seek COVID-19 testing).

Thank you for playing your part South Australia – together we can stop the spread of COVID-19 in SA.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are mild - get tested. You still need to get tested even if you have been vaccinated. Please be patient with testing site staff as testing sites are experiencing longer than usual wait times. We are increasing staff and extending opening hours.
