As a plastic surgeon, these are 3 things I’d never skip if I was having a cosmetic procedure.

Save this before your next consult and follow for surgeon-approved advice.

PART 2 | on 3AW

Are we all starting to look the same, or is that a myth?

There’s a big difference between chasing a TikTok trend and wanting to look like a refreshed version of yourself, and the reality is we see a lot more people asking for the latter.

And it’s not just women. More men than ever are quietly having eyelids, facial procedures, and post-weight-loss surgery too.

So what do you think? Is everybody starting to look the same?

Drop your thoughts below and head to the main feed to check out the rest of this interview.

PART 1 | on 3AW

Is cosmetic surgery becoming more common, or just more openly talked about?

Recently, we've had a slew of celebs revealing which operations they've had done, which is a HUGE change from even 10 years ago. This is especially notable for younger public figures who have only had minor procedures that aren't that noticeable to the general public.

In general, we’re seeing younger patients choose smaller, subtler procedures to address things they’ve always noticed — like hooded lids or under-eye bags — rather than waiting decades to have much bigger procedures with more obvious results.

So let’s chat.
Do you think doing something earlier makes sense?
Or do you think cosmetic surgery should always wait until ageing is more obvious?

Before surgery, there are a few requirements we discuss with every patient and they’re not optional.

Reaching your goal weight, not smoking, and following your care instructions all play a critical role in safety, healing, and long-term results.

During a surgical consultation, we’re assessing more than just the procedure you’re asking about and it determines what results are achievable, or if surgery is appropriate at all.
