We are excited to announce that our in-house psychologist Nicole Dorrington will be hosting a workshop!

Nicole is presenting a workshop to assist parents/carers in understanding how emotions develop across childhood into teens, along with practical in-the-moment strategies to assist children when they are emotionally overwhelmed or shutdown. Helping children develop positive emotional regulation skills whilst keeping the parent-child relationship secure. This workshop will also benefit parents/carers who might be waiting for intervention.

Training objectives
• Understanding children’s cognitive and emotional development
• Introduction to different brain states and how they relate to understanding your child’s emotions
• Understanding how to build your child’s emotional development and regulation skills
• Understanding when and how to implement consequences whilst maintaining connection with your kids
• Practical activities to apply your knowledge and skills.

Louise is a Psychologist with a Masters of Professional Psychology and has a special interest in neurocognitive disorders and conducting psychometric assessments for psychosocial, developmental, cognitive and behavioral concerns. Louise combines assessment results with information from clients, family, schools, and work to provide tailored recommendations and strategies to best support clients and their families.

Louise’s warm and professional approach, and respect for individual differences enables her to build safe and trusting therapeutic relationships with clients. Her client focused approach and passion for assisting clients to achieve their self-identified goals, ensures plans and therapy is individually tailored.

Over the past few weeks, Eton Place and our staff have overcome many hurdles including IT issues and changing of staff. Unfortunately, as much as we attempted to reduce the impact to our clients, we understand it did in a negative way.

We wanted sincerely apologize to all of our clients, both new and existing, for any inconveniences and distress caused over the past few weeks. Our administration staff have been working around the clock over the past week to enhance our training, resolve all IT issues and work towards being effective and efficient for our clients.
