16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence runs from 25 November to 10 December annually. The international campaign was started by the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. It begins each year on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and runs until Human Rights Day. The aim is to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Link Community Services are seeking genuinely caring and compassionate Casual Support Workers who have availability to work on a roster of work mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends on a rotating basis.
Essential Criteria
* Right to Work in Australia evidence such as Passport, Visa, Citizenship/Birth Certificate.
* Driver’s Licence.
*Completion of or willingness to enrol in Certificate III Individual Support or Equivalent.
*First aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
*Blue Card – Working with Children or willingness to obtain.
*Yellow Card – Working with People with a disability or willingness to obtain.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module or willingness to obtain.
*Completion of Infection Control Training or willingness to obtain.

Thank you to all the carers that volunteer their time to look after family members, friends and neighbours. October 12 - 18 is National Carers Week. National Carers Week is a time to recognise, celebrate and raise awareness about the 3 million Australians who provide care to a family member or friend.
Anyone can become a carer, at anytime. This year’s theme is, “You are, know, or will be one,” highlighting the widespread nature of caring – it affects virtually every person at some point in their lives.
Some ways you can support carers is to check-in regularly, offer a break, acknowledge and appreciate, initiate support or encourage self-care.
