Let’s talk maternity care..

Do you feel your care provider is supporting you and your wishes?

Or are feeling like just another number? They just giving you the same care as everyone else with no consideration to you personally?

Let’s talk about it!!

Because it is ok for you to ask questions, trust your gut, change directions and choose to birth how you feel best.. not just following standard procedure. And get care that is unique to you!

I would love for you to share your experience with your providers! 🩷

Plus share this with someone who you know needs to hear it all for them to take control of their maternity care 🫶🏼

It is really simple..

Do not talk to her during contractions. Especially, don’t ask her questions.

Simply wait. Wait for the contraction to be over before asking or talking.

Speaking during these contractions can pull the mother out of the zone. It pulls her away from being able to go within herself. It affects her focus, it can stress her out and reduces her ability to surrender to the process.

Send this to your birth partner because this can really make a huge difference in your labour experience 🫶🏼

Birth the way YOU want 🩷 share with someone who needs to see this today!

Having a dream birth is not luck.

It’s not about everything going as planned or having no interventions either.

It is about creating an experience that you feel good about. One that you made the decisions. You gave informed consent. You did what was best for you.

And you know what? This is done not by luck but by understanding birth. Understanding your choices and following your intuition.

How did you feel about your birth?

Raw footage minutes before birth..

I do love a romanticised video of birth with the sweet music, twinkly lights in the back and the perfect angles.

But I also love to share some of the raw sides of it too.

The deep, primal moans, the gentle words of encouragement, the breathing, the grunts and the silent moments of rest between contractions. It’s all apart of it.

Do you prefer seeing the real and raw birth videos or the sweet / aesthetic edited version?

A gentle but important reminder about asking if baby is here yet 🤍

When someone is close to their due date — or you know they’re in labour — it can be so tempting to message:

“Is baby here yet?”
“Are you a mummy/daddy yet?”
“Any updates?”

But here’s the thing… those constant check-ins can add pressure during one of the most vulnerable times in someone’s life.

Labour is unpredictable and deeply personal.
Phones buzzing every 20 minutes asking the same question doesn’t help it move faster — it just adds mental load.

And there are many reasons parents might not be announcing straight away:

• Labour could be long or complicated.
• Baby could need extra support or NICU time.
• Mum could be recovering physically or emotionally.
• There may have been unexpected challenges.
• They may simply want quiet, uninterrupted time to bond and adjust.

It’s also important to remember — whether you find out the minute baby is born or a week (or two) later… it truly doesn’t change your life.

But constant messages do impact the parents’ experience.

Those first hours and days are sacred. They’re raw. They’re exhausting. They’re emotional. Families deserve to move through that time without feeling like they owe the world live updates.

The most supportive thing you can do?

Send one message like:
“Thinking of you. No need to reply. I’m here when you’re ready.”

Then give them space 🤍

When they’re ready to share — they will.

Let’s normalise protecting new parents’ peace.

Remember informed consent is everything. Just because it is policy does not mean it is medically necessary. Ask questions, get curious. Find out what is actually evidence based before consenting to care. 🫶🏻
