An annual eye exam is important for long-term eye health. Today, we focus attention on keratoconus and ectatic corneal disorders. Keratoconus (KC) is a degenerative condition of the eye in which the normally round, dome-shaped cornea becomes progressively thinner. This causes a cone-like bulge to develop in the area where the cornea is thinnest, usually in the center. If left untreated, keratoconus can cause significant visual impairment and legal blindness.

Unfortunately, contact lenses are not biodegradable. Never dispose of your contact lenses in the sink or down the toilet. Place your contact lenses and the foil lids on your blister packs in your general waste and recycle the rest of the packaging.
