Have you torn your ACL in the last 20 days?

Casey McIntosh and Matthew Haswell are proud to be providing treatment as part of an ACL injury study led by the University of Melbourne.

💡 This exciting study compares a new non-surgical treatment that aims to heal the ACL, to ACL reconstruction surgery.

🙋 If you are aged between 16 and 40, find out more by contacting the clinic or by going to www.embracestudy.com.au.

All participants receive support from leading clinicians, physio consults for 12 months, necessary equipment and MRI scans.

Phase 1 of the planned Perth Street culvert upgrade will be commencing tomorrow (pending no disruptions to the schedule) and will run to Mid-May. During Phase 1, there should be minimal disruption to accessing Willows Health and Lifestyle Centre.

It's important to note that during Phase 1 there are:
No planned road closures.
Normal access applies with some construction noise and activity nearby.

Phase 2 will commence mid-May and road closures and diversions will be in place.

🦵 ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury rehab can feel like navigating a minefield… but it doesn’t have to be.

At Peak Performance Sports Physiotherapy we follow the Melbourne Return to Sport Score 2.0 when guiding our patients through their ACL injury rehabilitation. This guide is a practical, evidence-based roadmap to take the guesswork out of rehabbing these injuries.

Each phase has a clear goal and measurable criteria — so you’re not just feeling ready, you actually are ready.

👉 Swipe through to see how we break it down phase by phase.

Whether you’re pre-op, mid-rehab, or pushing for return to sport, having structure makes all the difference.

Do you know the difference between acute pain and persistent pain?

Acute pain lasts less than 6 weeks and is linked to a specific injury. On the other hand, persistent pain lasts more than 12 weeks. Persistent pain can be more complex and often reflects changes in the sensitivity of the nervous system.

If you’re living with pain, a physiotherapist or exercise physiologist may be able to assist. Contact our friendly team at Peak Performance Sports Physiotherapy to find out more.
